Questions & Answers
The F789 sends data to the Fluke connect app-enabled device directly over Bluetooth. For that meter, the IR3000 is useless.
I don't think so. At the top of the meter, there must be an optical connection to which the connect latches.
I have both the 289 and have done exactly what you describe - On the FlukeConnect app, only live data can be captured, and the app has a 10-minute time limit. Other models with built-in FC support previous capture data download; however, this unit does not, for whatever reason, and this need was raised on the Fluke website four years ago, but it fell on deaf ears at Fluke.
To connect with the Fluke Connect app, use this module with the Fluke 287, 289, and 789 (which do not have Bluetooth).
Selected User Reviews For Fluke - FLUKE-IR3000FC IR3000FC Infrared Connector for Connect
It can't be used to get measurements that already exist! I own several Fluke products, two of which (including this add-on) support Fluke Connect. br>br>Unlike my other FlukeConnect product, however, this add-on product DOES NOT allow you to retrieve existing stored data from your Fluke 287/289, and appears to only work in "Live" mode, which is completely non-functional. Given the way this product is advertised, it makes sense and is misleading. br>br>The product claims to be "upgradable by USB," but there is no user manual or method for doing so. br>br>There is also a 15-minute limit on capturing data via the FlukeConnect app, which is absurd given that it is advertised to increase the unit's recording capacity. br>br>While I wanted to like it, this product has no value, as others have pointed out. br>br>Please see the attached photos to see how these issues are manifested.
I knew this product had a number of major flaws and that you couldn't use it without first creating an online account, but I didn't realize it was only free for a year: br>br>"A limited 365-day free trial of Fluke Connect Assets is included with your account. For the free trial, there is no need to make a purchase or use a credit card. Wherever the law forbids it, this offer is void. Fluke reserves the right to modify or cancel this offer at any time. "br>br>It's clear that Fluke is only interested in making more money off of me and gathering my information. The product is already bad enough, with major flaws like a backlit button that you can't see when pressing/holding it and an IR LED/sensor that is completely exposed. As a result, it'll be returned to you.
The Fluke app is clumsy and aimed at technicians rather than engineers. I was able to put the Fluke in a dangerous situation where I didn't feel safe holding the probes in place and reading- It was a perfect fit. br>br>My second job was working on a friend's bottling line, where I had a meter mounted in the control panel. I was able to manipulate the battling line sensors and read the meter from afar. Without this tool, this would have required two people to complete.
I'm a 'tool guy,' and I've long admired Fluke equipment. This product has disappointed me greatly. br>br>Instructions were not included in the box when it was delivered. I tried plugging it into my 289 meter, but the app didn't recognize it; after some searching on the internet, I found a video that walked me through the setup (which is very simple). I was able to get the app to recognize the device, but I was unable to establish a stable connection, which resulted in a constant'spinning dial. ' br>br>When I called Fluke customer service, the guy told me to return it in the box because it was a bad product.
there are issues with the connection I have to fight to get this to connect with my iPhone 5S every time I try to use it. Any other Bluetooth devices that I have tried to connect to my phone have worked flawlessly. I've always been successful in getting it to work - But, other than trying again and again, I'm not sure what I can do to get it connected. My phone only shows the current reading and not the min/max/average, which I use frequently. br>I always rate my reviews based on whether or not I would buy it again if it were lost or stolen: This is something I would never buy again. Perhaps in a future version.
The Fluke ir3000fc is a good product that does exactly what it says it will. br>Once the Fluke Connect app is installed, the connection is almost instantaneous. br>With the app, up to ten devices can send data to a single cellphone. br>Thus far, everything has gone well. br>br>The not-so-subtle implication is that the not-so-subtle implication The Fluke Connetct app is a good example of this.
- Registration is required, with the data allegedly being sent to the cloud.
- It is necessary to have Android version 4 in order to use this application. 3 and up.
- It is not possible to send data from one piece of equipment to multiple cellphones at the same time. br>br>There are better apps for multimeters with Bluetooth capabilities, but they require older Android versions.
Good.
It's better than the cable, but it's overdone; the batteries are huge, and powering it up requires an extra step.
