Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
Low voltage (12-48V AC) and standard voltage (48-1000V AC) are automatically detected and indicated by the Voltage Tester, allowing for a wide range of applications.
Standard voltage in cables, cords, circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, and wires can be detected without touching them.
In security, entertainment, communications, environmental control, and irrigation systems, non-contact low voltage detection is used.
The tester's operational status is indicated by a bright green LED with a high intensity that helps to illuminate the workspace.
Select 12-1000V AC or 48-1000V AC when performing dual range testing.

Questions & Answers

What is the distinction between the ncvt- and the ncvt- 1, as well as the ncvt- 2 models? The ncvt-I was purchased. 1 and unsure whether or not the ncvt- Isn't it better to get 2 instead?

NCVT- 1 recognizes and displays standard voltage (48-volts) automatically. 1000 volts alternating current
NCVT- 2 detects and alerts low voltage (12-volt) automatically. 48 volts ac) and standard voltage (48 volts ac). 1000 volts alternating current
NCVT- 3 recognizes and displays the number 12 automatically. 1000- This model replaces the NCVT-V and has a built-in flashlight. 1 & NCVT-

Why is it that the low-income people don't have the same opportunities as the high-income Is there anything in the data about voltage that pertains to use in vehicles?

Both have the same voltage. AC, on the other hand, stands for alternating current. This indicates that the voltage fluctuates several times per second. In the United States, the standard AC frequency is 60 Hertz, which means that the frequency changes 60 times per second. The detector detects the polarity shift in the electricity. Because the "electrical poles" of DC do not change, the detector is unable to test a "steady" magnetic field. The sensor is activated by the magnetic field collapsing and reenergizing. The magnetic field grows in size as the voltage increases. I hope this has provided you with a satisfactory response to your query.

Is it possible to use it to look behind drywall for wires?

Yes. There are two detection levels on the instrument: one for low voltage and one for house voltage and above. Switch the instrument to low voltage detection mode if you're looking for wires behind walls. It'll be sensitive enough to detect house voltage in lines behind walls at that point. It's helped me find wires hidden behind over-an-inch-thick lath and plaster walls. For detection in high voltage detection mode, the instrument's end must be very close to the line, almost touching it.

Will this tester work with low-voltage yard lights that are 12 volts?

Yes, James, it's a (dual range tester), which means it can detect voltages ranging from 12 volts to 1000 volts. I hope this has been of assistance.

This Klein Non-Slip Mat was purchased by me. Contract a Dual Range Voltage Detector on Amazon based on the quality brand name and customer reviews. When I was troubleshooting and replacing light fixtures around a large waterfall structure, I used this device. Water and electricity don't mix well, especially for a novice weekend warrior like me. become an electrical engineer After several hours of use, I had come to rely on this device's accuracy. I felt confident in my ability to complete the lighting rewire. I took on a different project and replaced a failed LED display on an irrigation controller with a new one. Indoor projects (ceiling fan wiring, etc. ) can also benefit from this device. When it detects live voltage, it emits audible sounds, which I almost forgot to mention. br>br>I highly recommend this product, and I keep it in my toolbox at all times, regardless of the project I'm working on. Please select "Yes" below if you found this review to be helpful. Thank you for your time and consideration, and may God continue to bless you.

I was just about to have a heart attack when you came along and saved my life! Purchase it with the knowledge that the power is off

I thought I'd found the right breaker when the light went out while I was replacing a bathroom light fixture. Because the electrical box was never labeled, I had to go the old-fashioned route of testing each breaker until the bathroom light went out. Isn't that the case? br>br>A voice in my head told me to double check and verify there were no live wires with my new tester while I was buying it for another project last week (it worked great for that one). When I placed the tester near my bathrom light, it kept beeping. When I connected it to the electrical outlet in which my bathroom light was plugged in, as well as the bathroom light itself, I was certain it was broken. With trepidation, I went ahead and turned off a few more breakers for nearby rooms, one by one, and sure enough, my tester went silent when I turned off two more breakers. So three breakers were wired to my bathroom light or had wires connected to them! This tester saved my life and likely saved me a trip to the emergency room. br>br>I own a ranch house built in the 1950s. Buy this. Make certain that your work is of high quality. It'll always be a part of my toolkit! It is extremely simple to operate. Furthermore, it is manufactured in the United States of America.

I don't have any faith in this person
3/5

It happens in an unpredictable and inconsistent manner. If I plug this into an outlet, it will go off two out of every three times. I can then put it in my pocket and walk away, knowing that it will go off as I do so. In my opinion, this is not a company with whom you should entrust your safety. I'm stuck with it because I've had it for too long to return or replace it, but I would be cautious about purchasing one. I'm not sure if it's just the one I got, but the other reviews appear to be positive. The reviews and the Klein name were the reasons I purchased it in the first place. I'll have to look for another, unfortunately.

Great customer service; I've been a customer for a long time simply because of their excellent customer service; prior to this purchase, all fourteen of my previous orders had been bulletproof
5/5

For home remodeling, I bought this dual voltage non-contact voltage detector. For a few months, it worked flawlessly, but then it began to activate on its own. When it suddenly activated, it would be sitting there with nothing around it (or touching it). br>br>I put this device to a lot of use and was pleased with the accuracy with which it detected voltage. This device came in handy while I was installing shelves with nearby switches, and I didn't want to try to find a comparable brand because it had been bulletproof. The voltage detector helped me figure out where the wires behind the wall were. br>br>I emailed Kline, explained the situation, and was given permission to return the item. I returned the item and received a brand new device less than a week later; I'm not sure if it's a lifetime warranty, but with this level of "backing their products," I'll be buying a lot more Klein tools in the future.

It works well, but there are a few false alarms
4/5

This device is, for the most part, simple to set up and understand, and it will keep you safe. To make sure it's working, test it on a live outlet, then turn off the circuit to that outlet at the box and test it again. When you're using it on the outlet that needs to be repaired, test it first before removing the cover, and then test it again once the cover is removed. If the people who built your house were as shoddy as mine, you might have a loose (and live) wire. Several outlets not wired to code, including an outdoor flood outlet that used the wrong gauge wire and configuration for one but the correct gauge for the flood outlet on the other side. This tool will help protect you from idiots like that (you can't assume that just because you've turned off the power to an outlet that what's inside is correct and not live). The only gripe I have is that this thing will chirp a little bit on a switched off box every now and then. I'm not sure if it was picking up static or something else, but if you're not sure, go over the area with the "prong" two or three times and you should be able to tell before you start working. If you get multiple false positives, something is wrong, and you should stop working on it. If a switched-off box is still giving you live power readings, you may need to bite the bullet and call a licensed electrician for assistance.

NCVT Klein- 2 Review
5/5

NCVT Klein- It does exactly what it claims. Indicates the "hot" wire among a group of wires, which I consider to be the most important capability. If that setting is enabled, it will also indicate low voltage. There are two options available. The number one denotes both low and high voltage (12-volt). The other setting (49-1000) refers to only high voltage. 1000V). It's as simple as pressing and holding the power button for two seconds to change settings. Which setting you have selected (blue or green) is indicated by the LED color in the transparent tip. I don't care for Klein's entire line, but this tester is one of my favorites. fyi. the distinction between NCVT and NCVT- NCVT- 1 and There are two models in this - 1 only denotes a high voltage, while - denotes a low voltage. Both low and high voltages are represented by the number two.
