Kindle offers a cable that you can use when you get it. This cable will be needed after you get it. When I received the unit it was already on and it was also flat-out with no power. In terms of the unit itself, it is excellent. The battery protection of the unit prevented the battery from being ruined when it was left on. I tested it several times and it exceeded specs in every instance. An error of 0 was measured for frequency accuracy. A PPM of 1 is considered average. I tested each frequency and found that amplitude accuracy was better than 1 dB for all different frequencies. The level of spurious emissions has been reduced by 50 decibels.
