However, I had to replace my Chinese Craftsman caliper because it was quite beat up

I wished to spend a lot of money on a trip to the US We made the unit and decided to use it. A finger cannot easily get a grip on the wheel since it does not protrude enough. This unit works and is still there, but it isn't as simple and effortless (if that's the right word) as some others. Normally my Craftsman would return a few tenths off, but my Craftsman was always a few thou and more off.

This dial caliper is a great buy. It's made in the USA! My first calipers were junk made by Chinese companies that were well known in their fields. I decide I need to invest in a real caliper rather than using just a cheap and nasty Chinese The one I selected is perfect, because I wanted to make sure I got a real 120A-cable Therefore, I chose Amazon direct to ensure that it was sold on Amazon.

I'm not sure why I waited so long to buy this! In the past, cheap calipers have been used to take semi-accurate measurements The fact that you finally have a solid, accurate, reliable measuring tool makes it more rewarding when you have to make critical measurements

You can get quick readings once you learn how to use it and fine tune your muscle memory with it. It's quick, feels great in the hand and is simple to use. The tool in my garage is invaluable for the assembly of engine components, measurement of clearances, etc. It is very handy when adding shims to cylinder heads. The product exceeded my expectations considering I was not a machinist or mechanic, just a weekend hobbyist. I strongly recommend this product. This model is just as nice to look at as the cheap Chinese model.

I love this dial caliper, but compared to my old 120-, it doesn't measure as well as my new one Compared to A, B is nothing. There is a lack of smoothness in the machine quality, and the cut feels rough. Moreover, the dial circle is made of The only thing I can think of is that it would have been better in China even if I loved Starrett.
