The instrument measures from 150 millimeters to 150 millimeters directly in 1mm increments on the bar scale. Alternatively, we do not have a fine scale millimeter vernier or fine scale incrementation on the rotary dial to read millimeters. Gradients on the dial are graduated for inch measurements Decimal point 1).

It is unclear whether the description matches the packaging of the product otherwise the construction is good
3/5

In the product description, it is specifically stated that there is It claims 0. 001" accuracy, which led me to determine to purchase the product, however the product's packaging explicitly states +/- 0. 001" accuracy There is a 10x lower accuracy and significant difference in precision with the "01" accuracy. I find the dial to be easy to calibrate, and it feels solid. 20 firm returns repeatedly result in 0 for the return coefficient. There's a tiny bit of sticking when the product is first used, but it smooths out after 50 moves. It looks as if the face and teeth of the gauge are flat with no gaps visible, and make consistent contact with a piece of paper, so I have faith in its I'm not sure if there is anything wrong with it inside, but it is difficult to open. As with all such cases, the case will lose its rigidity over time. My overall opinion of this product is that the false claim of accuracy led me to purchase it over a $10 equivalent is very insulting. There will be a report on the product listing. It is for this reason that I am thinking about returning. There is no comparison between it and most +/- products The first digit of the decimal place It's a cheap caliper, but it's accurate to +/- 0. 05 mm My use of "01" is not particularly useful, nor does it correspond to.

It is almost impossible to open this case although it is sturdy
3/5

The caliper I am rating is a 3 The caliper is kept in a plastic case, which has an star. If not, I would have given it a A star. In spite of the toughness of the case, the clips holding the lid in place are very frustrating, particularly prior to first use. The only mark on the slide is the center catch with an arrow pointing downward. The slider is not present here. Here is where it should be pressed. There are two other unmarked locations with catches, the second one must be pulled from the top portion of the case and the first from the bottom portion of the A simultaneous press of all three buttons is required Even if you only have two hands, that's no easy task! mention, the plastic in the case is extremely hard to depress because of its durability. In the beginning, I thought I would buy a Starrett caliper for $110, until I read online reviews that this iconic brand obtained their products Having the advantage of knowing that CTI calipers are also made in China, it was an easy decision to purchase one from iGaging for a third of the cost. The poor quality of the case is just a shame that the company would make such a boneheaded mistake. Rather than cut off two of the outer tabs, I may cut off the three others. (I have colored the tab locations in the attached photo yellow.

A great value for the money! Accurate, rugged, and extremely rugged! With my iGaging 6" Fractional and LCD, I decided to go with the lowest price The Decimal Inch Capacity Combination Dial Caliper is a backup to my 35+ year old plastic calipers that I use for measuring ammo, working with wood, and general home maintenance
5/5

When you store and carry the tool in your tool bag or tool box or when storing it in the storage case it prevents damage. It is a fact that I have retired the old calipers (even though they still work well). I always turn to the iGaging calipers for accurate calipers You will be taken to the Benefits pro In stainless steel, they look absolutely beautiful and are very well designed, tough, easy to read, easy to operate, a good value, and easy to operate. In order to perform accurate measurements, the dial section of the caliper is easy to read and easy to "zero. " In addition to the dial, there is a slide lock as well The play is intended to mislead the reader. These new calipers were accurate when compared to other calipers previously owned and used, and they were within the margin of error used previously. Seeing both fractional and decimal conversions at the same time is very useful to me since I do the conversions in my head or with paper and pencil instead of doing it in my head. You won't have to deal with Mr. Murphy again and it will save you time. The cons are My calipers are perfect for all my needs and they are worth every penny of the money I spent on them.

I bought this to replace a plastic Craftsman gauge that finally broke after occasional use after 40 years
4/5

It's a heavy-duty instrument that should last for years, and at a good price. With its hardened stainless edge, the tool works smoothly with little effort, and the gauge lock screw can be used to prevent accidentally moving it during use. Moreover, I like the analog gauge since it is well marked with fractions on the outer white dial and decimals on the inner green This gadget is packaged in a plastic case that is easy to open and has foam cut-outs See if there is a tool nearby. In my case, one of the two plastic hinges for the lid had been pinned but the other was not. It was necessary to cut off part of a large paper clip to insert it into the hinge, but it is not enough problem to reduce the tool from a 5-star rating. A star. Other than the fact that it is a heavy-duty instrument that will last a long time, there is not much to say about this. A RECENT UPDATE (Jan 20, 2016) The rating has been downgraded to 4 from 5 A 4 to 5 star rating This is the only reason stars are awarded. A drill hole of less than 1/4 inch may not fit the depth measuring probe on the end of the probe The diameter of the circle is one inch. It used to have a probe that was only a steel rod that would fit in holes that were 1/16-inch wide The diameter of the circle is one inch. I gave it a five-star.

This appears to be an accurate and durable product
4/5

There are some bumps in the action, but overall, it serves its purpose. I would rate this as a good value for the price. Although it is not super smooth, it appears repeatable and accurate enough for my purposes. It would have cost more than $100 to get a Starett, and I decided that I don't use the device enough to justify it. My previous caliper was from the iGauging series (it was a higher end model, but still around $50. . . ) - Before I got this one, I purchased the iGauging digital/fractional caliper. Those calipers were extremely smooth and accurate, and of super high quality. The only reason I returned the book is that I wasn't able to use 1/128th fractions, but wow that was an excellent deal. As I expected it to be of similar quality, I bought it. I won't presume that this is a stellar piece of work, but it seems to be good and accurate - nah, it's not an excellent "sleeper," but anyway. The thumbwheel/sliding is just not as smooth as it should be. A really good purchase overall, and I didn't regret it at all. The digital version wouldn't have been as much of a loss if you could pick a more useful fraction (like rounding to the nearest 1/64th or 32nd would have been great).
