Good product
5/5

I chose the 2000 lb scale since it I felt to be the most versatile for my needs. The trailers I have on which I can use this are of many types. After loading the ATVs on my trailer, I hooked it to my vehicle so that I could hook on another four. I knew my vehicle was going to cause a lot of porpoising changes while I was driving because of a lot of rear end sag. To measure the tongue, I pulled the trailer off of the vehicle and lifted the scale to the same height as the trailer was on the vehicle. I then attached the tongue to the scale using a floor jack. Upon pulling my trailer, I found that my tongue weight on the hitch was almost 800 lbs. Using the 10% rule I believe that if I apply the 50% tongue weight theory, my trailer and load should total 8000 pounds. It was closer to 3000 lbs in actual weight without the load on the trailer. Once I had down loaded the trailer, I was able to hook the trailer back up to my vehicle and get it level once again. In the next phase, I re-positioned the Atvs on the trailer and used the scale once more. Following this process a couple of times, I finally achieved an average tongue weight of 350 pounds. This was satisfactory and the level of the trailer when hooked to the vehicle was close to perfect. After I completed the whole process, I was able to see the difference in how the vehicle looked on the other side during the time I spent. The trailer tracked very well at highway speeds with very little porpoising and I towed at highway speeds. My test gave me a better sense of weight distribution on a tandem axle trailer and I was very happy with the outcome. It is a verifiable scale. My opinion is that some reviews question its accuracy. That is certainly possible considering there are several factors that come into play, based on the trailer's location and the In any case, I think this scale worked wonderfully for me to get to the park and then I used common sense when I got back home.

A pick up tow vehicle should be owned by anyone with a vehicle

A great scale for measuring the weight of the tongue. In the meantime, you can check the tongue weight on the scale as you lower the If you have a heavy tongue, make sure you adjust the load to account for this weight.

A very handy tool that I regret not getting sooner

Now I know how much space is left on my Tung White and can adjust each car accordingly.
