Clasps work well as long as they are present. QC appears to be absent on the product because approximately 2010 of the fasteners have a manufacturing defect at one end or the other that keeps them from working. Only the plastic clasps appear to be a problem, but I've never used a metal clasp before. I'd buy the same style from a different vendor if I were to buy it again.
