I drilled through it and it's very strong. It did not break! This purchase has exceeded my expectations.
I would have given these five stars if they weren't for the fact that they are nice, thick (1/8 inch) clear plexiglass pieces that arrived in perfect condition. I was confident that I could use these as covers for my rimless nano tanks after reading other reviews. I was able to make the cuts I needed with little effort and no cracking or scratches by using a circular saw, drill, and jig saw. br>br>Now comes the part where the two stars come into play. Both of these warped within an hour of being placed in the aquariums. The edges rose up a quarter inch above the rim of the aquarium as the centers sunk in and the sides rose up. It's not only unattractive, but it also makes it difficult for snails and shrimp to escape the tank. Since these replaced two much thinner panels of plexiglass purchased here on Amazon from Lexan, I'm surprised that something 1/8" thick would warp so badly. The thinner pieces had been sitting in my tank for months with no signs of warping. I only bought this brand because it was in stock and I needed something longer. I immediately ordered the 12 x 12 for my smaller nano tank after seeing how it arrived and how much sturdier it appeared to be than the Lexan. The warping dissatisfied me, so I'll be switching to Lexan. The images shown are from a 12 x 12 sheet of paper. For the sake of my tank's inhabitants' safety, I had to remove the 12 x 24 sheet.
These panels were purchased for laser cutting and engraving, with the intention of using them in LED night lights (base lights, of course, are sold separately). Using online settings as a starting point, the acrylic cut beautifully. The images that resulted were clear and of high quality. Both sides of the panels are protected by protective paper. br>br> Larger areas of backing peeled off easily by hand, then small areas of paper backing were cleaned up using a light duty (** non-abrasive) (non-abrasive) (non-abrasive) (non-abrasive) (non-abrasive) (non-abrasive) (non-abrasive) (non-abrasive) (non-abrasive) (non-a scratching the surface! The edge of the owl image is a little rough, as a result of my software cutting around the owl multiple times. The acrylic panel was not at fault; it was my fault in how I imported the image. After a single pass, everything was nice and smooth.
1/8 inch thick black plexiglass It's opaque, so even if you hold it up to the sun, you won't be able to see through it. However, while drilling through it, it broke. I've never had a problem with plexiglass before, but this one just blew up for no apparent reason. I didn't have any issues with the hole saw, but I wouldn't recommend drilling it. For my car, I was creating a custom dash. I've done a few, and while I'm not sure what this one is made of, I would not purchase it from this company.
The product arrived in excellent condition and was exactly what I needed to replace a broken picture frame. However, after resizing the sheet to fit the frame and removing the protective covering, I was surprised to find multiple scratches on both sides of the sheet (3–4 multi-layered scratches). Both the left and right sides of the sheet have inch-long scratches). The protective film did not pick up these scratches, which were clearly visible before the film was applied. The scratches are present and can be easily seen if you look for them, even if they aren't very noticeable with my application. I wish I had known before I bought the product that it was scratched so that I could have planned ahead of time. It turns out that the section of the sheet that I cut-out-- During resizing, off had the fewest visible scratches (see photo). Again, if I had known where they were, I would have cut them off. off the other side, which had the most noticeable scratches.
My project was a success because it worked perfectly.
This item was purchased for use with my laser cutter. It was extremely effective! On the edges, there were no scorch marks or burn signs. The cut had a polished appearance to it. I am extremely pleased. I've used other sheets that didn't perform as well, leaving scorch or burn marks, warping, or otherwise failing to perform. None of those things were accomplished with these. For laser cutting, I highly recommend it. Even in finely detailed areas where I had problems with other brands, the paper coatings on both sides came off easily after cutting. I'm going to order a few more.
When the protective film was removed, it broke. As I was removing the film from the first piece, it broke. I used a heat gun on the second piece to slightly bend it into a curve. It says in the description that you can use a heat gun and that it is safe for the product; however, bending it with the heat gun is fairly easy if you slowly heat it up. However, as it cooled down after drying, it broke. So, I'm not sure if I can return the item, but I think I'll go to a local glass shop and say thank you for cutting and making it. I called today to find out how much it would cost; it's actually cheaper for me to buy it locally than it is online, so I wouldn't recommend it.
