Questions & Answers

If my question is stupid, I apologize. The lexan sheet looks like MR10, but is it?

It is a polycarbonate sheet that can be used for a wide variety of purposes. Compared to Lexan's MR10, Sabic (Lexan) produces a lot of different varieties of polycarbonate, and this variation does not have the abrasion-resistant Margard coating.

Is there a clear piece of UV transmitting glass you have?

Please accept my apologies that we only have acrylic, polycarbonate, and ABS in stock. The glass we work with is not tempered. Please accept my sincere thanks!

Though it's not clear here, I assume this is one sheet of paper?

According to my definition, it depends on what you mean by a sheet of paper. The listing is for one flat piece of Polycarbonate that measures 24" x 48" (nominal), which measures 1/4" thick.

It seems to be clear, so can I see through Earlier, it was stated that it was would this piece of cloth be strong enough to act as a protective cover for a cross cut sled?

You pull off a plastic cover at first that looks frosted before you start using it. It is as clear as glass, but more likely to scratch. I would suggest an increase in thickness of 1/8 of an inch or more in order to increase strength. Under 1/4 inch, you should be able to cut wood underneath Polycarbonite, which is what most safety glasses are made of, is used for making the eyewear.

Selected User Reviews For Lexan Sheet - Polycarbonate - .236" - 1/4" Thick, Clear, 24" x 48" Nominal

A product with blemishes should be avoided! When I got my sheets of 24"x48"X1/4" they looked great until I pulled the protective sheets off and noticed the lexan had ripples so I emailed the company and they responded that "this is general purpose so it's going to have quality issues
3/5

". I am not seeing this anywhere in the description of their product. It is therefore important to beware of sellers who sell blemished products.

I wasn't subscribed to the Amazon I got
3/5

Make sure you read the fine print before buying! The product I ordered was not the one I received. There are multiple aspects to Amazon IE. It has been getting worse recently with regards to search and product descriptions as well as price changes upon checkout, fake reviews, estimated shipping time, etc. The attached photos can be viewed here. The product viewed before ordering has a completely different label affixed to the sheet (purple color) that clearly identifies it as Lexan. Smart polycarbonate is the name of the product I received (black lettering). In spite of Lexan's reputation as a polycarbonate producer, it appears that I bought the material from a different company in the end. As per my plans, I'll proceed with my review of the product, and if it doesn't meet my expectations, I will update it. There is an advantage to the cut of the sheet, being square and two feet by four feet.

A warning has been issued to buyers who were not sent Lexan/Polycarbonate
3/5

MAKE SURE YOU ARE A SAFE BUYER! Lexan/polycarbonate was advertised and charged for, but acrylic/plexiglas was shipped (poly carbonate cracks and shatter, but plexi, which was half the cost, definitely does as well), no response from the seller, and had to submit I believe the product had a plain white backing / protecting film on the inside, no indication of what kind of product was installed, could have been a pick issue at the warehouse but I am now wondering if it was an issue at the warehouse.

I have peace of mind knowing that my garage door windows are in good hands
5/5

My garage door was fitted with this replacement window to replace the old 3/32" Lexan windows. It was hurricane season last year, and I put tape on the old windows to make them more sturdy. I was close to having a close call there. Even if the Lexan is not broken, as thin as it is, it could crack or break if it's not strong enough. The heavy duty 1/4" Lexan that I bought for this coming hurricane season isn't going to let me down. This kind of stuff is not available locally, only the very thin kind at this price. I was able to cut four 18-inch strips from this piece of Lexan. A 4-by-11 sheet is 5" by 11". Windows with a 25" width. Thank you very much for your fast shipping and careful packaging. Kudos to the seller for the quick delivery. The sources from which I can get more information are known to me. You can tell just by looking at the two pieces of Lexan in the middle photo that they are thick. Describe what you would prefer to have during wind gusts of 100 mph or more. There is almost three times more material in this 1/4" Lexan! It is now time to drill out all the screw holes and install the bolts and.

It's all right
3/5

Packages were in poor condition when they were shipped. Due to this, the packages were damaged during shipping. It was lucky for me that I did not need it to be perfect but even so, it was pretty expensive for such terrible A week after it arrived, the product had already reached half of its journey. In order to maintain humidity in aquariums, I made lids out of it.

Ideal for hurricane shutters that will last for years
5/5

As hurricane shutters, I installed these on my second floor dormer windows. This is bolted in place permanently to eliminate the need to walk on the roof during hurricane season to install it. Despite their differences, they got along This is a very strong word. Hole drilling is easy and does not crack or chip. In order to install the sprocket, I used large washers, nuts, and bolts. I can see it from the first floor as it is clearly visible. Resulted in a good outcome. Among the best products to use over acrylic panels are Lexan panels, which are less likely to crack and chip. In terms of strength, Lexan is virtually indestructible. Glad to hear that.

The corners were rounded and chipped, but the deadline was way past
3/5

The 2x4 sheets we ordered are both 2 feet by 4 feet. As a result of shipping, the edges of the items were chipped and rounded, however. In order to "protect" the product, there was just a thin piece of crumpled brown paper half the size of the actual product. Despite the fact that the box was too big for the items and allowed for a lot of movement, there was not a single thing protecting the corners. I spent a lot of time on it In place of the four days they told Prime it would take, it took N days to reach here. The seller did reimburse the shipping costs after a few emails. I had been waiting for this for 2 weeks. The product seems to be of good quality, but I would look elsewhere for more supplies when I need them. It amazes me that with a lack of packaging it didn't arrive shattered given the lack of packaging. No way am I putting myself at risk.

The product was damaged when I received it
3/5

It had several scratches on it, and those scratches were on the protective covering as well, so the damage had been done before packing was done. If I wanted a refund, I am certain I could return it. Because I plan on using it as a side by side windshield it will be scratched anyway. I just hate to start the project with scratches. I just wanted to let you know.
