How big is the inside?

nominal: P. 13/16" x 1 3/4" With a little sanding, both of the end caps listed with this item will work. The one with two ridges is my favorite because it's softer and easier to adjust. Regular PVC cement does not seem to work well with this product, so I switched to a thick or medium CA.

Are the outside dimensions 2'' X 1'' X 48'' accurate?

Yes, the outside dimensions are 2" x 1"; however, the length is entirely up to you.

Is this PVC glueable in the same way that PVC pipe is?

Yes: I'd suggested a commercial plumbing joining cement, which is widely used in the plumbing industry - The IPS brand comes to mind, and it is available in a wide range of compounds for almost any application.
