The LED strip does not come with the channel, but it does come with mounting hardware.

The metal is light, which gives the impression that it is flimsy, but it is actually quite strong. The clear part doesn't diffuse perfectly, but it hides the harsh brightness of the LEDs and makes the whole thing look much cleaner. I placed it beneath my bar and it looks fantastic. I've included two photos of the LED strip, one with and one without the diffuser.
They're light and, if you can put them together, they look nice. It took a long time for me to get the diffusion panel into the rail. There was no clear instruction on how to use the two, so I had to figure it out on my own. This was my biggest problem with these at first. I actually cut my fingers pretty badly trying to push the diffuser into the aluminum rail, as it seemed to be a little too big to fit in there unless you forced it. I was the one who got hurt, but consider this. I was so frustrated with the product that I hurt myself putting it together, and then I discovered that these panels had to be snapped into the rails and pressed in from one end to the other. When put together, you can still see the LED hot spots, so it's best to use it somewhere out of sight, like under a cabinet or table. Also, the LED hot spots were visible regardless of what I did, and I was using a dimmer-equipped LED strip. That was my experience with them, so there you have it.
I debated between these and the low profile ones and am glad I went with these because they are tiny and make mounting leds so easy. This set is also very cheap compared to other sets because it has 6m worth of raceways instead of 5br>they were well packaged when shipped and arrived in perfect condition, which I was concerned about because they are long and thin but that was not a problembr>i cut/bent them to size with wire cutters and bending them in half and they seeme.
I bought these to put LED strips under the noses of each of the four stairs that lead to our family room. I had just taped the strips to the bottom of the stairs at first, but I quickly realized that they wouldn't last long exposed like that. br>br>The channel was a success. I cut a couple of the channels in half, resulting in a 19" piece flush mounted under the nose on each stair. Because I wanted a tight fit, I didn't use the clips and instead drilled holes in each end and screwed them on. Cutting with a hacksaw is simple, and I did so for the covers as well. For a short length, it's rigid enough with just one screw on each end, but a full meter length would require at least three screws. br>br>The covers do a good job of evening out the light and passing plenty of light down the stairs. I am currently using the LED's at approximately 20% brightness and it looks amazing. I don t mind leaving them on from dusk to dawn because they are roughly drawing around 4 watts total. The covers are simple to install; simply begin at one end and snap the rest of the way in. br>br>The end caps are a bit on the pricey side, but they do the job. As others have mentioned, they don't seal very well, so a dab of silicon to keep them in place is a good idea. It's also a good idea to use silicon on the LED strips themselves; I've noticed that if you don't use a stronger adhesive to keep them up, they tend to fall down after a while. br>br>My only gripe is that you only get enough caps to use with the six strips; once you start slicing them up, you'll need more caps, which cost 10 clams for a pack of 12 plus some more clips. If you're going to cut them up for something like mounting under multiple kitchen cabinets, the caps could easily cost more than the channel itself. br>br>A few of them arrived slightly bowed, indicating that the packaging could be improved, but they can easily be straightened. br>br>To summarize, it's a good product for the price. The wife was so taken with the stairs that she tried to persuade me to do the ten steps on our main staircase as well, but since fishing the wires to the LEDs was the most difficult part of the project, it's not going to happen. But I'm sure I'll end up buying more as I come up with more creative ways to use LED strip lights in the future.
There isn't much to be unhappy about in this place. What you see is exactly what you get, and the product's function and build quality are both excellent. I especially like how short and slim it is. It's just the right width for a single 5050 LED strip, but unfortunately not wide enough for two. I almost wish I had purchased a thinner LED strip so I could have doubled the number of lights. The LED rows are higher up. But it's not the product's fault; it's my fault. br>br>The diffuser is the one area where I believe it could be improved. It's a standard plastic diffuser, but I noticed that it loses a little more light than I'd like (when compared to an uncapped LED strip). Although some loss is unavoidable, I believe I've seen higher-quality diffusers with less loss (though I don't have any measurement data to back this up). Regardless of the cost, this is a fantastic kit. Without a doubt, I would purchase again.
