Inside the valve is a HEPA-style filter (made of gauze material). The filter's efficacy cannot be restored by cleaning and disinfecting this material. That's why valves can't be reused. When you reuse, sanitize, or remove the filter from the valves, you risk cross contamination.

This assisted me in saving the life of a man on the side of the road. There was a lot of blood, and no one in their right mind would have done true mouth-to-mouth with that much blood. mouth. I took this mask out of my bag and placed it on my face. I was able to never touch anything other than the plastic piece with my mouth, and the valve kept the secretions out of my mouth. Many of my nursing colleagues have since purchased these to keep in their cars as a backup. These are LITERALLY life-saving devices!.
While I am required to maintain my BLS certification for the clinic, I always like to have extra supplies on hand in case something unexpected happens. I really like this pack because it's big enough to fit everything in the hard case. However, the supplier sent me a severely damaged one, which was broken upon arrival, and I would not recommend this to anyone. The alcohol pads were worn out, the gloves appeared to be hard plastic on the verge of disintegrating, and the case was broken once more. The only thing that was perfect was the mask. Be cautious when making your purchase.
I work as a lifeguard on the water's edge, and the constant movement necessitates a more secure case. Having said that, I did have to use the mask on a woman who had stopped breathing, and it worked flawlessly. As a result, that's a big plus!.
So, I've been meaning to write a review for this product for a long time. The fact that I haven't had to use this mask yet is a plus. On the other hand, it's difficult to give a comprehensive review without having used the product. I guess I'll have to buy a second one just to put it through its paces on a CPR dummy. This is in my small first aid kit, as you can see from the photos I've included. This is a must-have in any basic first-aid kit or emergency preparedness kit. (For the Condor EMT pouch, see the link below this review. ) I strongly advise you to take some CPR classes and become certified; it is well worth your time and effort. This mask simply shields you from any potentially harmful substances carried by your victim. An aside: Always protect your hands and eyes with gloves and safety glasses. I always keep a pair of clear safety glasses with me.

This was purchased as a "just in case" item to keep in my squad car. "The kit is fairly straightforward; it includes a one-way mask, a pair of medical gloves, alcohol wipes, and general instructions. " The mask has a strap that goes around the patient's head to keep it from moving around while CPR is being performed, which I like.
Will suffice, but the ease with which the container opens disappointed me. We bought these to attach to our tour guides' backpacks, and we were surprised how easily they opened up on the trail the first time we used them, spilling all of our belongings. br>br>The solution was simply to add a small strip of duct tape, which isn't the worst thing in the world, but it could be better.
These masks have a great "balloon" for sealing, but the one-way valve fitting is loose for attaching one-way valves for training (I've tried several different types, including the MCR brand) or even attaching a bag or even other brand new one-way valves. Without a doubt, I'm disappointed. I'm sure I'll switch to masks from a different manufacturer.
I bought this to go with an AED because it's always a good idea to be prepared. It's incredibly simple to use. It's a lot easier than trying to position a prone person correctly and then worrying about whether you're getting enough air into their lungs and the risk of communicable diseases. These masks require only that you blow into the vent-like tube, which provides the victim with more air than traditional mouth or mouth rescue breathing. They can be cleaned and fit into the small case nicely.
