It's a one-way valve, so don't expect it to work both ways. The patient inhales, but the valve moves the air away from the rescuer's face when the patient's chest falls and he or she exhales.
Originally, there were pictures of the mask, but one of the other sellers deleted them for some reason.
I can't speak for the other sellers, but if they're selling the actual ADC 4053 ADSAFE Pocket Rescusitator and not a generic mask, it'll come with an O2 Port.
I'm not sure about that; most of the time, they're thrown away.

I bought a bunch of these to put around the Retirement Community where I work as the Director. The incident that everyone fears occurred just a few days ago. On his way to get the Sunday Paper, a resident collapsed in the hall. There isn't a pulse and there aren't any breaths. Staff used this CPR mask and gave CPR until EMS arrived, which took about 7 minutes. The resident continued to be unresponsive. He's in the hospital right now, waiting for a value replacement. His mental faculties are intact, as is his sense of humour. I couldn't recall anything, but I was curious if he had received his newspaper, as the damned thing is expensive! Must have been a useful tool in this situation! The mask was simple to assess and operate for the staff.
The seal around the edges is terrible. For almost 24 years, I've been a CPR instructor with the American Heart Association. This is a very low-quality item that is kept in a very sturdy container. The peripheral seal is so bad that it can't be used at all. This is a product I would not recommend to anyone.
The first impressions are excellent. I just got it today and am very pleased with the overall quality. The case, in particular, was a pleasant surprise; mine arrived in excellent condition and was far nicer than I had anticipated. br>br>As others have pointed out, calling something "pocket sized" is a stretch. Yes, I could fit it in the front pocket of my shorts, but jeans pockets would have been a stretch (literally). I can't imagine someone carrying this around with them, but if they did, I'd wonder if there were better products for the job. This is exactly what I had in mind for a small first aid kit to keep in the car or backpacking gear, and it's everything I expected and more. br>br>Like everything else in my first aid kit, I hope I'll never need it, but having it on hand gives me confidence. I'll be grateful to have it on hand if the need arises.
The case isn't perfect, but it'll do the job for less than ten dollars. I was recently involved in a car accident. The driver was severely injured in a head-on collision. I'm familiar with CPR, but after seeing the driver, I'm hoping I won't need it. br>After that accident, I knew I needed to get a mask like this for not only my own safety but also the safety of the patient. Again, for less than ten dollars, it's a must-have item that could one day save a life. br>I hope I never have to use it, but at the very least I'm aware that it exists.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Because my mask gets knocked around a lot in my daily carry bag, I really appreciate the hard case that came with it. I'm hoping I won't have to test the mask's efficacy. I've recently started working as a CPR/AED instructor, and I'll be using this mask to show how inexpensive and convenient it is to carry a CPR mask around.
Oh well. The plastic box appears to be more durable than the other options' bags, which is a plus. In addition, the finished product appears to be of high quality. Fortunately, I've never needed to use it. I bought it in the hopes of being in the right place at the right time to assist someone. However, when I was making my selection, I accidentally selected the incorrect option. I wanted to get the pair because children and infants are more prone to respiratory codes. This item isn't returnable, but I'm not out a lot of money, so it's not a big deal. I'll just go out and get the one I really want.
Although I prefer the face barrier, I purchased this to demonstrate to my students the various options available. This kit includes gloves as well as an alcohol pack, which I appreciate. I'm not planning on wearing the green strap, but I'll keep it on for the demonstrations in class. If I were to take this kit with me, I would remove the strap because it is in the way. This mask can only be used once. It folds up easily and has a one-way valve that is permanently attached to the mask. This is convenient because you don't have to fiddle with a valve to get it set up. I believe the hard case is excessive, but I suppose that's what people want. The hard case makes it bulkier, so I think I'll put it somewhere and forget about it, whereas the barrier comes in a smaller package, so I can keep it on my person when I'm out and about in town, on walks, or driving around.
My order arrived in a soft mailing envelope, with the mask's protective case broken and unable to close. Customer service at Amazon was notified, and a refund was issued. After passing the American Heart Association's CPR and Basic First Aid certification course, I ordered the kit. The responder is protected while the two breaths are delivered after 30 compressions with this device. The case is a little flimsy, so I'm hoping it will hold up during my backpacking trip in the backcountry.
