Glass rods were delivered on time and at a reasonable price. They showed up in a bubble-wrapped package. Wrap cylinder, cushioned from the outside, all in contact with one another inside; none were chipped, and all were intact. br>The rod ends are crudely finished; none were chipped, and all were intact. There are no sharp edges, but some are lopsided and only a few are well-rounded. I could refine them all in a burner flame if I really wanted to. br>The two largest sizes are far too large for the project I'm working on. They'll be dormant for a while. br>However, they're of a decent diameter and should be strong enough for all but the most extreme use. It's most likely soda glass that hasn't been tempered. br>At this point, it's sufficient. Suitable for the task at hand. I'll use them until they're broken because they're inexpensive. I have no qualms.
Don't buy anything! The rods' ends should be rounded, but almost all of them are misshaped. Many of the rods have small air bubbles in them. Five of the rods were chipped on one or both ends and appeared brittle, as if more shards might fall off. This cannot be allowed to continue! I bought these to stir small batches of cosmetic creams, lotions, and serums because it would be dangerous to rub products that might contain glass shards all over my skin!
- I couldn't tell if the chipping was caused by poor manufacturing or improper packaging. (I was unable to locate any broken shards within the packaging. ) )
- These were received wrapped in a single piece of bubble wrap and placed snugly inside a long cardboard box, which was then placed inside a larger shipping box with 5 or so smallish plastic bubbles. Although the packaging appeared to be sturdy, it could have benefited from individual wrapping of each rod and a more "secure" inner box in the shipping box.
- AT THE END OF THE DAY, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
- Furthermore, the largest size of these stirring rods is approximately 14" long and 1cm thick, and appears to be completely useless unless you're stirring a large quantity of all liquids.
- Because of the chipped finish, I only gave it a one-star rating. ends that are brittle.
These did not have round ends; the edges are "rounded" so that they aren't sharp, but they aren't round as advertised. They're also frequently uneven on the ends, with one being significantly off (as shown) and the other simply chipped. br>br>I'm in need of round ends, so I'll save these for a later project and continue shopping.
Of course, I broke the longer ones because I'm basically stirring tree sap, but they lasted a long time, and I still have the 6 incher. It's a good glass, but if you need more durability, boro is the way to go. Alternatively, if you're stirring tough stuff, don't be like me and get metal stirrers.
Great product; I'll use them as cocktail stirrers in my home bar. I like the variety of sizes because I can use them in various glassware sizes as well as for pitchers of adult beverages. They appear to be sturdy, and they arrived in good condition with no damage. br>Perfect for hot beverages, Irish coffees, and other beverages because they don't melt or change the flavor. br>It's also inexpensive!.
The glass stirring rods were exactly as described, at a reasonable price, and with prompt delivery. The packaging was excellent, with each item individually wrapped in bubble wrap and separated from the rest of the shipment. None of them were damaged in any way, and they were perfect for my needs. I intend to place another order.
I wanted a stirring rod that didn't have any color balls in the tips, just clear ones, but these are a little too delicate for my liking.
The second set of stirring rods arrived with half of the rods broken, despite the fact that they were well packaged with bubble wrap in a compact box. The box itself was free of dents. The second set was in perfect condition when it arrived. The stirring rods have so far proven to be durable in the classroom.
