Okay, I'm writing this review using a medical application as a source. This type of item was suggested by my urologist, who is not a doctor. I developed a urethral stricture, which was treated with outpatient surgery, and part of the ongoing care involves stretching the uretha every other day with an 18 French catheter. My urologist recommended that I use this type of item after I experienced irritation from the eyelets and developed a UTI. He admitted that it isn't his first choice, but that if done correctly, it is safer than my sterile catheters, which cause UTIs every few months. This is the first time I've used this product, and it's been great so far. So far, the 6mm and 8mm have been alternated. The 6 is the most similar to the one I've been wearing for about a year, while the 8 is a little tighter. They are, however, exactly what I needed when used properly and with plenty of sterile lube/gel. Just remember to go slowly and don't push yourself too hard. In terms of the kit I received, it arrived quickly, a little dusty but only needed a quick wipe-down. Before using these, make sure they're clean, clean, clean. Remember where it'll be used, and wash it thoroughly before each use, including scrubbing your hands. Those guys in the videos are most likely more shaved than they appear, so proceed with caution at all times.
It sounded good and all, but take my advice and don't do it. The pain and blood aren't worth it. It's not even close to being worth it. You can end up bleeding profusely if there are too many blood vessels.
I'm really liking this product, and the progression from 3/4mm to 17/18mm in 1mm increments is almost perfect. Simply begin with a width that fits you well, then progress to the next, become accustomed to it, and then progress to the next. This book comes highly recommended. Exceptional.
This is a great set for anyone from a beginner to a seasoned pro.
They work because my aches disappear every time I use them.
