Questions & Answers

What makes you think that the windlass is made of aluminum when it is made of plastic?

Unlike a windlass, it does not consist of

Can you tell me how long these are? Can these be used on extremities up to a certain diameter?

A total length of 36" measures from the tip of the buckle to the opening of the strap. Simple math can be used to prove that over a 10 in a velcro overlap it will work over a 4 in velcro overlap. The diameter of the extremity is 2". In my 20's, I am a pretty after clipping it onto my upper leg, I have 17" of strap left after I clip it in relatively tight (not as tight as you would in a real situation).

Could someone tell me if there is a tq holder that will work with this one?

There are different types of holders, so it depends on the style. The pouches fit into soft molle bags nicely. It is not possible to buy generic plastic holders for less.

Is there a contradiction in the title saying it has metal gears, but the questions and answers all claim the gears are plastic/polymer?

My TQ just came out of its case and is attached to my "Active Shooter Bag" where it sits patiently until I can reply to your inquiry. I doubt that it is without any doubt powered by Although it is a small amount of plastic, the two nylon hooks in the lower section of the sail are very durable. I'm not sure what kind of lack of DNA other answerers are suffering from, but my phone is made of a very durable aluminum. Whether it's a quality product or not, you can relax knowing you're getting a good one.

It is not a CAT TQ, so you should not do it
3/5

The Recon TQs I earned during my training were used to visit an emergency and special forces doctor for a formal emergency medical training class. It was immediately identified by him that the Recon brand should be tossed in the trash and replaced with genuine CAT TQs. According to him, there are no published studies demonstrating how well the Recon TQ holds up in the field, and he has seen many of them break in the field. His next step was to demonstrate his inferiority. There was no reason to buy those. I'm annoyed I wasted money on them.

Plastic is apparently the same as aluminum

There are two kinds of windlass in the item title an aluminum windlass and a metal windlass. Each The seller was dishonest and wasted my money. I would give it 0 stars if it was possible. Make sure you are buying what you need.

The program uses a CAT, but does not have a CAT
5/5

Despite the fact that this is not a true NAR CAT tourniquet, I am absolutely confident in its functionality. was reading mixed reviews for this product and decided to try it out for myself before packing it away After following normal directions, I could not feel a pulse on my wrist when the tourniquet was applied properly, which is the whole point of such a device. The belt is certainly a more reliable option than the RATS tourniquet or someone's belt. It is my belief that generally, a tourniquet is only effective if used properly For everyday applications, time management is a must. My problem is that I don't want it back if I have to use it on myself or someone else. My plan is to buy another one. A tourniquet is a very useful thing to have in my car and on my range back because I shoot a lot and I may sometimes be shooting outdoors where one might save life if a serious accident occurs (which fortunately is.

Their effectiveness is proven
5/5

My own experience with these tourniquets was saving one of my subjects' lives in a car accident. We had a subject who was struck and pinned by the car, In order to control bleeding, I used one of these tourniquets on the left leg of the subject. As well as the rest of the officers, I also used tourniquets to preserve the subject's life. I tore the windlass to pull down to the point where the other officer had to assist me to secure it into the locking clip and it held without any problems. Each shift, I carry one of these tourniquets on my person as I trust them with my life. I'll continue to carry one. Having the hole added to your grip is also a plus when you have bloody hands.

The TQ appears to be solid
5/5

There are several TQs I own, including one that is an extremely popular and similar one. Since I have never used any of them in reality, I cannot give any advice on how to use them. Generally, the recon TQ looks and performs almost identically to another branded TQ that leads the industry in popularity. There are a few ways in which I feel that recon has the upper hand, but again, these are extra features that are enjoyable but certainly not dealbreakers. Windless and finger holes are made from aluminum, and Kevlar stitching is possible. Aside from the quality, the value of this product sets it apart. the point of view of functionality, it is the same as all other popular, proven, and approved TQs, and I am afraid I cannot imagine how anyone could possibly disagree with One of the possible concerns would be the durability of the training simulator because it was used less over time. There have been comments regarding failures after repeated use in training simulators. You may encounter failure if you use anything repeatedly for a long time. It is generally intended to be used only once in real life, so I am very confident it will deliver its intended effects if/when used. It will be until someone does a comparison of the recon and a similar brand of say 1K or more times, applying both to the same object using the same pressure and demonstrating the recon's superiority from a failure rate standpoint that I will continue to use doubt, I recommend purchasing one and either seeing how it works, or trying it out (training). Before discarding this as an option, I recommend that you give it a try, for yourself.

TQ across the board is good
4/5

In one sense, I was impressed with this product due to the cost and its similarity to a cat. This is one of the things I keep in a bag I carry with me every day. Several times in the last month, I have forgotten this bag in my car. A velcro strap is no longer attached to the windlass because the adhesive My car is always closed with a CAT China kids. I have done so for the past On the CAT, the adhesive has held up without a problem to the same level of heat. However, I have no complaints other than that. As a result of this tourniquet, the blood flow is cut off in my arm and thigh, and the windlass and velcro hold up under *Edit
There's been an increase in reviews of these items. In my experience, the ones I have been using have held up very well in the time I have owned It should never be taken as a deal breaker if the adhesive breaks. They are a great alternative to the more expensive types of cats, and I am sure they will be TCCC-approved in no time at all The second one I purchased was made by recon medical in a prefabricated IFAK.
