Questions & Answers

Did it really come from the United States?

It does not appear they are made in the USA right now. From the United States comes Kevlar, made by DuPont. It is my hope that this helped.

An application that can be held in one hand?

Like the CAT, it has a similar design. CAT and Recon are both easily applied one handed, if you're able to use CAT with one hand.

Is there a printable version of the instructions? This is not the appropriate time for me to view a YouTube video. ?

There are none that I know of. You can practice the application on an arm or leg, and make sure you know how it is applied and tightened before you apply it to your body. Even if it is necessary to apply extra pressure, you won't want to use it with the same pressure - There's a mechanism behind how it works, but you need to understand it. can be used to control life-threatening bleeding from an extremity that would be impossible to control with manual pressure. this tape is applied above the bleeding area and tightened until no bleeding occurs or the bleeding Even if you were to need it in the most dire of circumstances, it will immediately become apparent how much pressure you would need to apply to stop Even if you were ever in such a situation, which is hoped not to happen, you would not be concerned about applying too much pressure to save someone's

Would you mind if I added 12 orange ones to the listing?

The manufacturer should be contacted. They were all orange like the picture and I bought 32 of them. I wish you the best of

I don't think this is junk, but the staging could be better
5/5

To train with, I bought one black one, and I bought two orange ones for my car. Neither of us is an EMT, but we have been trained by EMT trainers in trauma care. The trainers stressed over and over again that you must avoid purchasing counterfeit goods It is not advisable to use generic, cheap tourniquets because they have the following problems Windlasses are often made from cheap plastic that will break or bend catastrophically if they are tightened down too hard. Strap material is cheap, thin, and stretchy, so you need to twist the windlass many times to get it tight, if it is What am I supposed to do now? When I first started looking, I immediately started comparing what was available since I did not want to spend $30 when I could get something almost as good for approximately half that price. A) unless one of the following exceptions applies 1 .
It seems that a C+ would be a good grade There is already a loop at the end of this strap that you can pull over one arm to wear it. In that case, you have to pull it out of the packaging and thread it through in advance of the emergency and then you can put it into the nice heavy-duty bag. *cf. next section. The clip is already covered by the white velcro strip! The act of practicing one-on-one When you deploy this rig by hand, it was very frustrating because there was a strap in the way, which prevented the windlass from being inserted into the clip. The solution is Put the white tab over to one side when you remove it from the package for #1 above. It would be out of the way if you were getting Having it staged and ready to go in an emergency is a great idea. Then, you can put it in the bag in the right way for storage when you take it out of the package. Neither of these is a problem provided that you take it out of the package before deployment. What about the factory? Is there no way for them to do this? Having said that, the upside is that I placed it over a heavy coat on my arm and tried to turn the windlass until it broke. After taking off the coat and deploying it again, it only took 1 full turn of the windlass to choke off the pulse, not the traditional 4 or 5 spins it would take with junk windlasses made of cheap, stretchy materials. The device was also tested on a rolled-up camping mattress so I can crank at it to see if it breaks. It is impossible for me to No way you could break either of these, because the windlass fastens to the strap with ribbons, so if you break those too, it would be just as bad. In which case, I would have given it five stars if it had been properly packed. However, I'm planning on ordering more of them and staging them myself eventually.

There is more to counterfeit than that
5/5

As a Critical Care EMS medic for five years, I have had the chance to see most tourniquets on the market, I have had the opportunity to use some of them, and my opinions about some of them are harsh. A tourniquet like this isn't a good idea In other words, it is a clone (or in polite terms, it is a copy) landed on this page because you looked for a genuine CAT and this brought you here, or maybe you balked at the price that a real CAT costs and wanted a cheaper alternative. That's fine, we all want to save a few bucks on our purchases. It is important to become aware that there are many counterfeit CATs on the market, and that some of them have been known to malfunction If someone asks for my opinion on the quality of their first aid kit or jump bag, I usually pull out the tourniquet and if it's not a CAT or SWAT (which I dislike) or a rat, I usually pull out a counterfeit CAT. It is almost always bad news when I am told this, and I make them a tourniquet out of a $1 triangular bandage and a pen every time I do. In any case, I was very impressed when I held up my hands with a Recon tourniquet I intend to test one and store the other in my trunk in my jump bag. As far as I'm concerned, this tourniquet is at least up to par We have a few differences, and I will The windlass on the Recon appears to be aluminum rather than metal. As long as the image on Amazon shows a plastic windlass, I did not expect this. It was usually the windlass snapping in half that caused fake CATs to fail in most instances. In real CAT's the windlass is plastic as well, but it is less brittle plastic, which I have never encountered failure with Even so, I consider the Recon a much better alternative to the CAT, especially since the Recon has a longer windlass, is easier to apply pressure with, and has an aggressive texture that will make it less slippery when damp. This pistol has a finger hole at the end of the barrel while the CAT does not. Although I am not particularly fond of this feature myself, I do not think it is a weakness. Recon is the only one I cannot fault out of all the CATs I've seen. It appears the individual parts of it have been heat welded together rather than sonic welded like on a It seems that ultrasonic welding has a stronger bond, and I have heard of heat-welding I found the counterfeit welded CATs failing at the welds, however for the Recon that I received, it boasted it was made with Kevlar thread, which I suspect may be to reinforce any weak points. On the left side of the three I ordered, I tested the right side and tried to break it as hard as I could by wrapping it around a 4x4 and cranking I don't think you would need to apply such extreme force to stop a bleed in the real world, as the welds and windlass stood up to the abuse pretty well. There is one large indicator of quality I noticed in the Recon, and that is the windlass only took about one and a half turns to become tight, and I was unable to turn it any further than two full turns. When it comes to counterfeit windlasses, you find that they can take up to six turns before the windlass becomes tight, which to me demonstrates shoddy assembly and poor tolerances during Can you tell me about the Now, it can be found in my trunk in a personal jump bag. would use it again, and if I was asked for a recommendation on a good tourniquet, I might suggest the Recon as a more budget option Alongside the long-established CAT and SOF, we are also conscious of the alternatives
But, just before I finish, I would like to state It is not No matter how dirty or contaminated it may be, it can still be used. It should contain the words "TRAINING ONLY" in large letters and should be used strictly for practice. Keep an unused one in your bag for emergencies.

This is a really good tourniquet
5/5

In cool weather, the metal winlass will keep hands nice and cool. It has a rough surface that will help with maintaining a firm grip in bloody or sweaty conditions. It appears to be made of a very durable material and has nice stitching. This was a quick and effective way for me to deploy it on myself.
Hopefully, I will never need to use this tourniquet, but if I have to, I would trust the Recon with my life and the lives of those close to me. My son, who is still in high school, attended a class on tourniquets and compressions called "Stop the Bleed. ". The Recon (orange) he now carries at school is for his son. Furthermore, I carry one in my EDC Trauma Pack, in the back of my Jeep, and in the dashboard of It is a great time to get several and teach your family how to use them at this price. You might even save your own life if you save someone else's. I believe that customers' reviews are vital when it comes to making purchase decisions, so I take the time to review everything I buy on Amazon for myself and for Let us know you appreciate our efforts by clicking the "helpful" button below the review if you find it valuable.
