Can you explain the difference between the recon medicalgen 3 TQ and the gen 4 TQ? Thanks so much! ?

Among other improvements, the Gen 4 has a stronger buckle, and a pen rests in the windlass that can be used as a marking pen. It has not been my experience to have a problem with Gen 3 or Gen 4, and I you're buying for the first time, I recommend getting the Gen 4, as I strongly feel it is an upgrade worth considering.

Everything seems to be in order
5/5

The search for a tourniquet is an indication that a person hopes to be prepared to help others or to make themselves more self-sufficient This is a good thing, since it is always sufficient. It's important to remember, however, that unless you are acting professionally, you need to consider many factors when it comes to making an investment, not the least of which is whether you wish to buy "proven" gear from "approved" suppliers. You might want to look at a few TQs on Amazon, specifically those with prices well below the industry average - If you choose a standard North American Rescue Cat, then your decision is not based on TCCC ratings or a Made in USA badge. There is an extra charge for those. The kind people at Recon Medical were kind enough to send me a discount code when this updated version of their TQ came out, so I decided to add one to my cart. (I now have three Recon Medical GEN4 TQs. resembles a great deal the aforementioned NAR CAT (currently Gen7), with the notable exception that the Recon version sports a finger hole and a different windlass. a UV) bag so you can remove the TQ from the original packaging, yet continue to protect it while it's being used. Are they gimmicks? What should be considered when designing? As I mentioned above, you don't get TCCC approval for this TQ, and as of last time I checked, it's manufactured in Asia (presumably China), meaning the price is lower. However, these are still features that you won't find on MUCH more expensive competitors. There is not a significant difference (except for the finger hole in the Recon TQ) in terms of application and durability, so I have to be honest and state that it is no different to apply two CATs. A type TQ compared to another type TQ. There may be one windlass that's easier to grip than another, but an assessment of this is only going to come with actual use because you will not know until you break the windlass (an occasional complaint about plastic windlasses). Among the three devices, there is an actual Gen 7 NAR CAT, a Gen 4 Recon Medical, and two other Amazon-branded devices There was no difference in functionality between sourced and sourced TQs. We all like to think that none of our TQs leave the factory with defects, so it'd be nice if the quality control folks were there on the day yours is made. (One such competing TQ was disconcerting because of its There were only a few minor grammatical errors in the otherwise passable translation to English, but the first step in the instructions was actually impossible due to the construction of that This was negligence on the part of the person applying the tourniquet if they may not have been trained in its use or may be reading instructions. A struggle to perform one of the first steps could lead to too much time being lost. My guess is that the instructions came from a previous generation's design, but they weren't cool. ) The fact of the matter is, it would be hard for me to claim that any metric is better than any other, unless you want to debate the virtues of the CAT versus SWAT design. There are several kinds of T, RAT, and so on. CATs are so common that I stock kits that other people might have to use, so I use them to stock kits that others might have to use. Although (and arguably) improved by Recon Medical, I don't claim it is the best or even my favorite CAT design. It is my general practice to carry NAR trauma kits (CATs) where they will be the main method of obtaining blood In fact, I have replaced some older super-high quality TQs with some new Recon Medical ones, which are more for spare/supplemental use There are cheap TQs with replacement Recon units, which means the unit needs upgrading. You will, of course, get different results depending on your mileage. It's a good idea to use a tourniquet in the event you need it, but if you do, I consider this low-risk The price of the option is high.

Let me make a few notes on I have to say, I feel legit with this tourniquet
4/5

There are a few things I'd like to say about it but I think it's pretty sturdy. 1 of 3. Overall, the tourniquet feels nice, but the red tips are smaller in size as opposed to what they are on There is only one fabric type of the Recon the slim fabric with hooks and loops and a red tip, which may affect the deployment of the tourniquet under stressful conditions
2. My first impression was that it looked nice, but I am not sure if it would In addition to the hook and loop, the finger loop has three hooks. In my attempt to deploy it and fasten the tourniquet with the finger hole, I found that it was actually a greater effort and time commitment than pulling the tip of it. I would trust the tip more
3. Might work in real life? Of course, but I would trust it I feel the same, it feels exactly like what I felt when I used a Despite the fact that Kevlar thread has no problems, it is a nice thread. Four paragraphs. It is indeed a good addition to have the buckle there. It is extremely durable and reliable because it has a metal core. Five points. Here is the reason I bought tourniquets in the first place It is a It could be argued that the windlass is aluminum, and does feel sturdy, but it is slimmer than those made of polymer. I think there is a problem here. There is only a couple of turns I can do with the CAT windlass before the rope gets too tight. The Recon would need at least three It may take more time. Because of its smaller diameter, the windlass might slip under high tension or high torque, even though it is made of aluminum and features some texture for 6 *br. Unlike a windlass clip, which has a circular shape, the clip is like a wall. In conclusion, it's a decent tourniquet, it does feel pleasant and is thrust worthy, but the NAR CAT will still sit beside this one in my survival kit. Due to it being more affordable than CAT and having just as good quality as the brand, I will be purchasing more. The kits are a good option for those on a tight budget or those who need several items for a First Aid kit (although I still wish that I didn't need to use them).

This is a great feature
5/5

A tourniquet from Recon Medical is the easiest one to use, especially since they come ready to deploy when needed. It has several features I appreciate, such as the finger hole in the pull tab, an aluminum windless with pen for noting the time, and Kevlar stitching for durability. A great tourniquet, that's all it is.

A high level of quality
5/5

There are a number of tourniquets that I have used, but this is one that I have trusted to save the lives of people I have helped. Metal windless is used in place of the plastic material that is prone to breaking and is of high quality. After repeated uses of a tourniquet from Recon Medical, I have never had one fail. The TCCC does not recommend this tourniquet specifically however, it should be on the list and at the top of the list of recommended tourniquets.

It would be nice to never need The build quality seems to be good, and the product seems to be easy to use
5/5

The first kit I wanted to have was this one. I hope that I never have to use it, but I wanted to have it in my first one.

Products of great quality
5/5

The two Tourniquets I bought for updating my old NAR and SOF versions are great. Considering the fact that the R&D team made a perfect first aid device for half the cost to the customer, it appears to be a no-brainer. In training, it appears to work quite well. Let's hope I never have to use it, but I'm all set as a preventative measure.

This is excellent

I am a Paramedic, so I was very skeptical for I had spent the bulk of my career using a specific lab One of the most recognized brands of C A day at the office for T. Q. In my off-duty hours, I was looking for something to do I was considering this as a duty use, so I looked into it further. It was not a good idea to steal from work, so I used Although the price is somewhat high, it is not as high as the other I am used to. The one I just purchased is the one I just bought. Would love to be able to afford a handful of gift cards for my wife, my daughter's backpack, my EDC, and my At first glance, it seems highly impressive. Even though I haven't used it before, I'm confident about adding it It is designed to be used when hiking, hunting, and shooting.

There is no competition when it comes to quality for price
5/5

There is no denying that these tourniquets are excellent. As you consider the cost, the quality is even more impressive. I understand that these are not NAR-approved or as popular as the CAT7 or SOFT T, since they have not been widely evaluated. It should be noted that the materials used in these are high quality, and I have a few to show for it. Despite my background in medical sciences, I am not a licensed physician.
