Having said that, I don't think all the plastic plant markers are that great. So I was hoping to find something compostable that I won't have trouble affording. I found these tongue depressors to be perfect for this use!
You can get 500 for next to nothing, and they will last for a long time. I put mine in my garden beds and pots so I can tell exactly what I seeded/planted in spring, and they hold It doesn't matter how much rain, sun, and humidity there is in the fall, they will still be there.

Despite their price, these "craft sticks" are made from very smooth wood and have a very nice finish. They are not individually wrapped, so I am not sure that I would use them in my mouth as a tongue depressor, but they work great for sanding in my jewelry classes.

tongue depressors is quite a number, so you might think that's okay for something so small, but seriously 500 tongue depressors is quite a number. In fact, you get a whole box that will refill the doctor's jar at least a few The garden is labeled with these so I ordered them for the vegetables. We won't be able to use them for decades. However, $1 is quite a bargain. You can get them for less than $50. Using them for firewood or as shims might be a good idea.

This product takes a long time to deliver, but is priced very affordably. There were four boxes, of which one had a sticker that said "damaged". About 90% of its contents were loosely packed back inside. Three of the remaining four boxes were unscathed and were packed normally. My wife plans to use these crafts to make cards with them, so it won't be a problem. The damaged box won't be worth the time or trouble to return at this low price.

I can use them to mark my seedling trays for a reasonable price because they have a shiney finish.

The food we use as a model for Earth's features is used in our science labs. I use these as a substitute for plastic spoons or knives. I am extremely pleased with the amount I received for the price, as I am buying it with my own money. I am also impressed with the quality!.

My purposes called for it to work well. With a standard Sharpie, I wrote the names of my seedlings on them. There are slivers in other reviews as well. In the 50 I've written on and shoved into the soil so far, I've yet to find a sliver.
