This was given to my wife as a gift, and she adores it! She has a bad back and spends most of her days in bed, but this desk has allowed her to remain productive even on her worst days. Plus a meal in bed now and then. br>The only drawback I've found is that the screws keep falling out. I now have the tool, but one of the screws/bolts has gone missing.
I returned the first one and placed an order for a new one, but the same thing happened. The bottom appears to be made up of several pieces. I eventually came across a single-piece of wood tray with a bean bag underneath. Love it.
I like the size, the surface, and the thick enough wood. . . what I don't like is that you have to be very careful about the legs folding under on you if you're not on a hard surface. . . so if you like eating in bed, make sure legs are steady before placing food plate. . . I don't put drinks on it for that reason, which defeats the purpose, so I wish the legs locked once they're pulled outward.
Because I have a damaged spine (particularly in my neck), reading magazines and books is difficult for me unless the reading material is tilted up so that I do not have to bend my neck down. This tray is the perfect size; unlike others I've seen or used, it is not too small. I can fold the legs of my oversized chair and place it in my lap. I can read on the tray's tilted top or use it flat for other crafts. It arrived in a nice package. It's well-made and simple to operate. It appeals to me.
It's a lovely tray that's also extremely useful. I'm just annoyed because the hinge isn't very strong. The angled tray will fall because it is loose. It's a real drag.
It only took three days to split this piece of garbage in half. I'm bedridden, so it's never left my bed, never been wet, never been moved, and never had anything heavy placed on it. However, it split in half while I was not even using it; it simply sat on the bed with nothing on it and split in half. The leg collapsing comment made by others is also correct. Legs are shaky, and the tray was constantly collapsing on my poor fractured pelvis. It's the most inexcusable purchase I've ever made. I assumed it would be of good quality because it wasn't cheap. And, no, I'm not looking for a replacement; I'm looking for a refund. And because I'm disabled, I won't be able to gather packing materials, pack up this broken item, and have a friend bring it to an Amazon Hub. This piece of garbage has cost me money, and I want my money back.
I purchased a tray because I am having surgery and will be spending the majority of my time in bed. Except for the legs, which do not secure or snap into place, the tray is nice. I'm always putting them back in place.
I bought the tray to help me recover from surgery. It was fantastic. If you're not careful, the legs may fold inward. The wood split in two places, which was my biggest disappointment. One was strewn across the tray as a whole. Working from my laptop resulted in nothing being dropped. It is my intention to return it. Very let down.
