It does not reduce the amount of space available for walking. It's a fantastic helper for walkers.

Tray that folds up The tray arrived in perfect condition and fit perfectly on the front of the walker

The tray, however, does not lie flat due to the Walker's slanting front. The Walker's base is wider than its top, causing the tray to slant slightly. Fortunately, because there is a lip on the tray, items placed on it do not roll off. The cup holders are also a nice touch.
