It was simple to assemble, and it is also simple to operate. For added comfort, I purchased a faux sheepskin cover, which is extremely stable and has prevented me from falling. However, it is difficult to use outside- Any kind of textured surface necessitates a strong grip and a slow pace. After five weeks of use, it's starting to get a little squeaky/creaky, but this hasn't stopped me from using it. The foam on the knee pad is starting to lose its cushioning, but it's still functional; those are the only two reasons I didn't give it a five-star rating. If you have to be non-violent, this is the place to be. I highly recommend this as an alternative to crutches because it allows you to bear weight on your foot or ankle. Also, the front basket is great for transporting all sorts of items!.
This is the second one I've had. The Elenker knee scooter seat, for which this pad was designed, has a dubious design with a raised section in the middle. My shin was irritated as a result of this. It would be more comfortable with the cushion, I thought. Elenker promised to send me a bonus seat cushion if I gave a positive review on the walker. This seemed like a good way to solve the only flaw in an otherwise great knee scooter. I ordered a replacement from Amazon until it arrived. Even when the drawstring was fully taught, it shifted to the side a little. No problem; I simply adjusted it on a regular basis. After a week of use, however, an interior seam that held the padding in place began to unravel. As soon as I was able to walk and leave the house, I planned to return it within the return period. I started using the identical one Elenker had sent me as a thank you for my review almost immediately. Because the stitching held up, it's possible that the first one had a quality control issue. But, even more concerning, after three weeks of consistent use, I began to notice that my shin was hurting, and it became increasingly so. The cushioning, which was about 1" thick and claimed to be high density, was compressed to a razor-thin layer. This is not something I would recommend.
YOU WILL REQUIRE THIS IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED A SCOOTER. Because it's so much better than crutches, you may believe you can zoom around your house indefinitely. You'll be begging for a pad to cushion your knee after a week on the scooter (and looking forward to several more weeks on the scooter). DON'T SAY NO TO THE PRICE OF CONVENIENCE. DO IT NOW.
Due to my small size, I use one of the smaller, child-sized knee walkers, an All Terrain KneeRover, which I've had for several years and am very happy with, despite the fact that the knee cushion was beginning to crack. Because most of the new covers/pads for it were so large, I was concerned. I just hoped it wouldn't be too big because this was the smallest cover/pad I could find that looked decent. It works! This pad's design allows for "wiggle room" and is small enough to fit on a smaller knee cushion. On the underside, there is a drawstring that allows you to tighten it up. It does hang over a little in the front and back, but this isn't a problem because it stays put pretty well. Because the padding inside is thick and firm, I had to lower the knee cushion one hole to keep the hip on that side from being too jacked up. The cushion was initially quite firm, but after a short while, the memory foam kicked in and made everything feel much more comfortable.
This cover was ordered to go over a knee scooter pad made by Elenker. Pros- It did improve the comfort of the Knee pad, which was appropriately covered. Cons: One of the seams tore as I tried to tighten the cover. It's not a major issue. The grip isn't as good as it claims to be. You must be cautious because the cover moves. Any light-colored items were discolored. My cast has a black cloth at the very top. Fortunately, I'll soon be wearing a boot. Make a request for a type of sheepskin.
I was having difficulty getting around after foot surgery. This scooter was a godsend to me when I ordered it. I am able to stand for longer periods of time when I need to, and I have even taken it to the store, because I can get around the house without walking on my sore foot. Because I'm only 5'2", I use the lowest notch on the seat, and it works for me. This is a sturdy scooter, but don't try to race it because you might lose your balance. Also, take it slowly when walking over uneven surfaces in your home or breaks in the concrete sidewalks, as a wheel could catch on something and cause you to fall. It's light enough for me to lift it over an obstacle with ease, and it glides smoothly. This is a fantastic product that I would strongly suggest.
I recently underwent ankle surgery and will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. After 6 weeks of weight bearing, I decided to buy this scooter. The doctor's office rents them for $100 per month, so this scooter was a good deal. I was so relieved to receive my scooter today because I had been on crutches for two days and was sick of them! With crutches, you're limited in what you can do, whereas with a scooter, you can do more. A big plus is the basket. Despite the fact that I only received the scooter today, I had previously rented one similar from the doctor's office two years ago. I didn't give it five stars because I placed my order on the 7th and only received it today (10 days later). I didn't expect the delivery to take so long.
This is fantastic, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. It's a high-quality item that looks great.
