My favorite part is how easy it is to put them on, and that they are more secure than the traditional pop in. I imagine you can just use a Phillips head screwdriver to change the diameter so that they will be a bit easier to remove. They don't change their function, it's just not my taste in wheels. I dislike that they are BRIGHT blue, but it doesn't change how they work. My expectation was a softer rubber texture that would make them feel more like a bicycle tire, but instead I got a hard rubber that I can easily walk on There is no longer a need for me to be bothered by sidewalk seams that I hardly notice are uneven tripping me up. There is really no reason to worry about it on grass or gravel. In Pennsylvania snow, the wheels are not so great, but they are much better than the same size wheels I had originally. Although I haven't looked yet, they seem to wobble from side to side a bit. I don't know if they can be tightened. All in all, I think they are a great product, much better than the standard size found on walkers. Installation of these products is simple. For this particular application, I did not feel it was worthwhile to pay additional money for the rubber over the plastic.
He is very tall (6'3") and very athletic. Walking with a regular walker was difficult due to its wimpy wheels. The off-road style walker makes mobility easier I have found road wheels to be much easier for my hubs! Regardless of the obstacle, they will roll over it! The guys at his PT shop are always commenting on his "manly" wheels and.
Including the tire, the wheel has a diameter of 7 7/8". With the hub of the axle measuring about 1 1/2 inches deep and the center about 1/2" offset toward the inside face of the wheel, it's held in place with a 5/16-inch bolt. It means that the face of the bearing is about 1/2" closer to the mounting point than the face of the tire itself. If a small washer had been used on the bearing's inside face, it would have given the bearing more stability. The list is unfortunately not complete. It is not a precision assembly, but is rather a basic bearing sleeve. It is primarily intended for use on a walker, but does the job well.
Despite the fact that the wheels are a good, easy to install despite the fact that the skids weren't installed. There was a machine fine thread soft metal screw in the frame that was supposed to tighten the skids, but no thread cutters were available. In reality, the tighter the screw was, the more difficult it was to turn a Philips head or straight head (neither screw driver bit was damaged in any way). The screw head had become so damaged it would not go through It won't matter to me whether they're returned or not. Installing the screws will be a simple matter of going to the hardware store and getting a screw thread cutter and a hex head or alen head. Don, aside from that, it looks like the skids will last for some time.
There is a lot of variation in the tolerances of this equipment. The wheels of the walker diverge 3 or 4 degrees when leaning on it. The wheels are parallel when leaning, but diverge about 3 or 4 degrees outward from each other. It seems as though the wide, flat tires are holding back the movements of the walker. On a flat surface, such as a carpet or lawn, the wheels perform nicely. But as soon as there is traction, the walker feels as though brakes are stopping it from moving. It is also difficult to squeeze through narrow doorways because of the extra width.
They were a big hit with me. The clothes were easy to wear, but after being worn for a little while they worked great. Because they are so tall and strong, they pull a walker one way more or less. I tried a different method. I followed the same path as Walkers.
These are excellent. I am very pleased with them. Over rough terrain, they roll right over without getting stuck like the original little plastic wheels did. On the original wheels, I nearly flipped over several times when I hit bumps, pebbles, or cracks in the sidewalk. It took me no time at all to install these wheels on my Drive walker. You should know that these wheels are noticeably heavier than the original wheels, so you will need to increase the weight of your The process of loading my walker in the back of my car is a bit difficult. Despite that, there is nothing major. They don't have the glide skis I need, but they look great, so I will keep them when my own break down. These are definitely worth checking out. We have to pay so much for them!.
The smaller wheels were left on the back and these were put on the front. After hanging bags for garden equipment from the sides of the walker, I put a big bag to hold my battery-powered sprayer in the middle of the walker. The small wheels in the back are about to be replaced with these large wheels. There are no breaks so I will have to carry some small wooden wedges to prevent it from rolling downhill when I stop to prune or spray. Compared with a wheelbarrow or two wheeler or pull cart, this is so much easier.
