Questions & Answers

Do the wheels swivel in both directions (when used as a wheelchair and a walker)? Is it possible to tell whether the wheels are made of rubber or plastic?

The two front wheels swivel 360 degrees. The same two wheels are in front, whether it's being used as a rollator or a transport chair. The rear two wheels are statically mounted (i.e., they don't swivel or turn) which improves rolling stability. Molded plastic hubs and good rubber "tires" are on the wheels.

What good is knowing that the seat height can be raised if you don't know how high it should be to begin with?

Mr. Williams, I'll respond to your query with a few observations. Model 795B B is the type of rollator I have. This model has a seat height of 21 inches that is not adjustable. Seat height can be adjusted with spacers on some newer models, according to my understanding. Because I rarely use the Rollator as a "chair," I consider the seat height to be relatively insignificant. It functions as a set of "wheeled crutches" for me.

If repairs are necessary, how should they be done?

If it's been less than 30 days, contact Amazon. If it's been more than 30 days, look up Drive Medical on the internet and give them a call. When my father's walker broke two months after purchase, they replaced it with a new one.

Is there a distinction between a regular Drive Rollator and a Drive Rollator with wheels? the wheels that are 8"? What about the armrests and footrest?

Even more crucial- Pushing someone who is using a rollator is not recommended. In addition to handles for pushing, this transport chhair has footrests to ensure the rider's safety.

It's a lot better and easier to use than a regular walker
5/5

This was a gift for my 89-year-old mother-in-law, who adores it as much as I do. She was using a standard walker and was having a lot of difficulty maneuvering it and was afraid of falling. She feels very secure with this item, and the fact that the wheels swivel makes it much easier to maneuver. There isn't a single thing about it that I don't like. Because she is unable to walk long distances, the ability to convert this into a transport chair quickly and easily is extremely beneficial. It is possible for this to tip on rough surfaces or down inclines while being used as a transport chair, according to the instructions, but there is a simple fix for this. Walking backwards is an option for the person pushing. Even if this item couldn't tip, I'd recommend going backwards while descending an incline because if you trip while pushing it, it can get away from you, and the person sitting has no control and could be seriously injured. As a result, I strongly suggest that you purchase this product. It's made my mother-in-law's and my lives a lot easier.

It's not perfect, but it's very, very good
5/5

My wife can walk a little, but not very far, due to multiple surgeries and complications. Excursions as simple as going shopping are difficult and impossible without the use of a rollator or chair. It'd be impossible to take a vacation. I purchased the Duet in January of 2018 and it has proven to be invaluable. It's a little beat up, but it's flown half way around the world, visited Taiwan, been on a cruise, visited Disney World, rolled through the streets of New York, visited the lakes of upstate New York, and been dragged through the sands of Aruba. It's not perfect, and it's difficult to use on thresholds, bumps, and uneven surfaces. Any stumbling block will be a test. The seat and back are a little hard for a long bumpy ride, but without the Duet we would not have been able to go on any of the fun trips we did this past year. It isn't perfect, but it is incredibly good.

VERY DANGEROUS
3/5

I've used it as a wheelchair twice now, and it's extremely dangerous. My 81-year-old mother was injured when she fell out of it today. When used as a wheelchair, the issue is with the front wheels. If there is even a slight rise in the pavement or flooring, the front wheels will come to a halt, and the passenger will be thrown forward and fall. The first time I used it, the front wheels collided with the space on the floor as you enter an elevator, but my mother was able to catch herself and stop her fall. She fell out of her wheelchair and was injured today when we hit a small rise in the cement in a parking structure. It's okay as a walker, but it's not suitable for use as a wheelchair. Because the front wheels have no give, they cannot maneuver over small bumps or changes in the flooring, and as a result, they come to a hard stop, causing the passenger to fall. It's going back to you.

Caution
3/5

The Transportation Chair is extremely dangerous!   I'm only giving it one star because of the inherent DANGER it poses to people who use it as a transportation chair, particularly the elderly. While the instruction manual mentions that "leaning forward while using the Duet as a transport chair without proper assistance can cause tipping," it should be prominently displayed as a warning - This is not a "precautionary measure. " My senior citizen (90 lb. ) is in need of some assistance. ) When her mother leaned forward slightly, the chair flipped over on top of her, breaking her leg and necessitating major surgery and rehabilitation. I strongly advise caregivers to SIT in the chair and see for themselves how easily this "tips. " I'd also like to hear from other users (victims) who have experienced similar problems, and I'm putting the manufacturer on notice that they need to better publicize the device's dangers, or risk facing legal action in the future.

The Ferrari Convertible Walker is a vehicle that is capable of turning into a convertible AWESOME Walker that can be used in a variety of ways
5/5

I am a 59-year-old woman who has experienced a major medical event in her life. I mostly used it in "walker and carrier mode," but I also used it in "sitting mode" when I was cooking, tired, or doing something else that required me to sit. It's important to be cautious when leaning too far forward because it can cause you to fall over. It's simply a matter of learning how to use it and exercising caution, as with anything else. It performed admirably for me, and I've had it for eight months and it's still in excellent condition. I don't need it any longer, but this chair/walker/carrier has become an addiction for me. I now use it to transport items from one room to the next, and I place a large food tray on the seat to do so. Miscellaneous items can be stored under the seat. It can be collapsed for storage in the trunk or back seat of a car. My physical therapist taught me how to put a sheet in the back seat so that I could pull it out more easily when I went back to work, and it saved the back seat from being damaged. It does take up a lot of space, so keep that in mind if you're driving a small vehicle. I disliked hospital walkers because the wheels were dangerous to use outside, as I had firsthand experience with them. The fact that the wheels on this walker are large and have 360-degree turning capabilities, as well as the fact that it has brakes, is appealing to me. I did purchase some accessories, such as a water bottle holder and a carry bag to hang from the handles. For me, it was and continues to be a fantastic product that will serve me well for a long time; I especially like the fact that I can still use it as a carrier, reducing the number of trips I have to make from room to room. Because the handles are two lower and two higher, it worked for me to turn the walker around backwards to use lower handles to help me step down or up on a high step, such as going in and out of my garage, because the handles are two lower and two higher. I loved not having to worry about uneven or bumpy sidewalks when I went for a walk. In essence, this walker enabled me to be self-sufficient at home, allowing me to do things at my own pace rather than relying on others, which was a life-changing experience. I lived alone, and the investment paid for itself in a variety of ways that will last a lifetime. If I were going to an event where I would need a chair to sit, I would choose this chair because I could wheel it, carry things, and sit. This chair would not embarrass me if I sat in it. Things happen as I get older, and when they do, I'll still have my chair, which I can wheel around and use as a walker and carrier. and most importantly, be ready for whatever life throws at you. This chair/walker/everything is well-made and will last a long time; I would buy it again if the need arises.
