Is their head slipped through the collar or is it tied off in the back?

They have a velcro closure at the back of the neck and are tied in the back. There's also a front tie, in which the scrubbed person spins around and ties in front while the assistant holds the card.

Do you get a towel with this?

A small piece of white paper towel, to be precise.

Is this durable enough to protect the clothes of an oil painter or artist?

Yes, it's of good quality - Oil paints should not be a problem because it protects against liquids in medical situations.

Amazon has a good price and is very easy to use

These gowns are available at some of the most competitive prices available. And ordering them from Amazon is so much easier than dealing with Medline directly; certain sizes can be difficult to come by depending on the seller, but I've always been able to find the sizes we need at a reasonable price.

Gown that can be used only once

We were looking for a gown that could be used for multiple purposes, but these gowns do not meet that criteria. They're only meant to be used once. I carefully read the description and saw no mention of this being a disposable gown (or so I thought).
