They should have packaged them better when we received them because two of the mirrors were broken. The mirrors, on the other hand, are in good condition.
First and foremost, this arrived with one very broken mirror, which I would have cut myself if it hadn't been for the plastic wrap. br>1– sanitize these before using by soaking them in alcohol or very diluted bleach and thoroughly rinsing them. br>2– as a retired RDH, I know how to use these, but there were no instructions, which is a major flaw. br>3– the lack of light reduces visibility significantly, and there is no easy way to handle these delicate situations. br>Different mirrors are used in different areas of the mouth, mostly (in my opinion) to discover sore areas on the soft tissue; other obvious issues (broken teeth, lost fillings) can all be seen, but using these as layman's diagnostic tools is not recommended. br>My main concern is that these are not properly cleaned and stored.
The mirrors are crystal clear, and they came wrapped in plastic to keep them from scratching. They can be used right away after being removed and washed to examine the areas of the mouth and teeth that are in question. br>br>An important note to remember:
- These can be autoclaved, according to the information page! However, disinfectant should not be used because it will erode the protective coating. Therefore, exercise caution.
These were purchased for craft purposes rather than dental use. The variety of shapes appeals to me, as well as the fact that it is two-dimensional. It's also a lot of fun to play sided. br>br>They came in a bubble envelope with each item individually wrapped in plastic wrap. Upon unwrapping, there were visible markings from the wrap, which easily wiped off against my shirt. br>br>I'm concerned because they appear to be easily scratchable after hand washing, which may not speak well for their durability.
To give you an idea of scale, here's a photo of a soda can. br>br>I was expecting them to be a little smaller, but they do the job. br>br>They are wrapped in saran wrap and placed in a bubble envelope; mine were also placed in a box because I had ordered other items, but I believe they should be packaged more securely. br>br>They are smooth, with no cutting issues on the sides.
