The scales are divided into 5 subscales. Both provide very fine images, and they are very enjoyable An online auction site had used ones for sale, so I bought mine there. The quality of this loupe is much higher than a cheap glass loupe and the focus is sharp from Despite its metal and glass construction, this loupe is highly versatile. While it has adjustable focus, and offer a clear and crisp image, the image is inverted as well. Reticles (scales) are inserted into the clear acrylic riser tube in between the bottom metal ring and the clear acrylic riser. As this loupe is quite expensive, I'm not sure I would ever pay full price for it. However, most loupes that are labelled as comparator loupes are much more expensive than this one. A Peak 60x microscope is also part of my collection. Both provide very fine images, and they are very enjoyable.
