Selected User Reviews For ILOVETOOL 4 inch Diamond Grinding Disc Arbor 5/8''inch Grinding Flat Lap Discs 320 Grit
It arrived quickly, and I am happy with my purchase.
On a machine with a flat backing plate, a flat lap, like this one, is used. When combined with water lubrication, a small slab, agate half, or other small rock can be smoothed quickly. Even if jury rigged to fit, this is not for use with a power tool grinder/polisher/angle grinder/drill. It's for a flat lap polisher/faceter that can use 4 inch flat discs, or a specialized cabochon machine (such as the US-made Diamond P*cific Genie/Pixie) with an accessory plate that lets you use a 4" flat lap. To best preserve the lap disc diamond surface, this MUST be used with water or water mixed with a water soluble oil coolant. To prevent the disc from rusting or becoming contaminated with another grit, it should be rinsed thoroughly with warm water, dried, and stored separately from others. This can be used to cut a true gemstone when combined with the right machine and other lap plates. There are different grits of this lap plate. 1000 grit is a fine grit that will gradually remove material to allow for finer sanding - Prepolish, which can take up to 50000 grit depending on the gemstone, isn't quite ready yet. On one side of the metal lap plate, the diamond grit appears to be evenly coated. Good value for money and good quality. br>br>I hope the information and my review were useful to you.
On the way to the desired finish, 400 grit is a preliminary polishing stage. Lie down in a pool of water that is constantly flowing. Is there a way to make it better? than- With an angle grinder, you can expect to do a good job. Allow your lap to take care of the heavy lifting. Always do your laps in the presence of running water or a cooling agent. br>br>For rock finishing, this is better than expected.
