The metal threads are of the highest quality! Plastic threads are used on other threads (not threads)

Compared to the stock ends that came with an (expensive) gas spring/strut that I have, these end fittings are a LOT better. These have metal internal threads, while the ones that came with the gas spring had plastic internal threads (that It turns out that I was using my spring/strut for a custom application (horizontal car door support on my Lexus GX470), and the threads at the end of the old fittings broke after a short time and the spring wouldn't stay in place any longer. As of now, I have replaced them with this set (with metal threads). Everything is working fine!.
