Solid hookup wire is a fairly common type of cable. This wire appears to be of high quality. It strips well and meets all of my requirements at a reasonable price; I'll provide some context by describing my application. br>br>I had to rewire my doorbell (which was originally wired with cloth insulated wire in the 1940s - see below). yikes) and this turned out to be the best option. This wire came in two colors: red and white, which I used to color-code the feed from the return. Unlike most modern doorbell wiring, mine has a wire that runs up the outside wall from the transformer in my basement to the doorbell. The wiring then travels up and through the rafters to a doorbell mounted on an inside wall. Then it runs back to the transformer along the basement joists after going down that wall to the basement. Strange. Using a fishing tape to fish this wire through my wall worked well. It unwound without hanging- anywhere in the world It stripped cleanly once pulled, and needle nose pliers twisted it nicely at all connections for the screw terminals. br>br>Rewiring is a pain, but it's all too common, as in my case. I only used about 30 feet of each wire, so there's plenty left over for future projects. Wire is wire, and this fully met all of my needs at a reasonable price, so I'm giving it five stars.
It's made of real copper wire with good insulation. Remington is one of the few places on Amazon where you can buy wire that is exactly what it says it is. I recommend Remington to anyone looking for wire that meets performance requirements such as good insulation, a good copper alloy, UL listing, and so on. I've purchased wire from other Amazon vendors at prices that were too good to be true and received exactly what I paid for. Don't use sloppy wire if you want to do it properly and safely.
I was a little skeptical because some people claim solid wire but end up with stranded. The wire is made of solid copper and has a fantastic finish. My new wire supplier has arrived!.
For breadboards, this is a good size. It should be snug but not too tight.
product of high quality.
I've been using it to make breadboard jumpers because it's of good quality.
In the description, I thought it said copper- that was exactly what I was looking for I used it and it worked perfectly.
