I installed this and the master link exploded into its base components almost immediately, so I'm not sure how this could ever be considered safe for a child's bike. I went back and purchased the HD version, which has performed admirably thus far.

It's not that this chain is bad. . . it's a good chain. . . I just needed a heavier duty chain for my pocket bike. . . . This chain is for a very light-duty application.
