The tougher bolts will "self thread" or "tap into the pre-threaded hole." the blade assembly's drilled holes
These are, indeed, self-tapping devices.
Yes, all four of them are present. They are self-tapping into the housing that is not threaded.
All four bolts are in good condition. They performed admirably on my Cub Cadet rtz50.

They're just bolts, after all. rip off. They're just bolts, after all. Nothing out of the ordinary. In any case, tap the spindle holes. Go to the hardware store and get some simple little capscrews for ten dollars. Self- tapping on the back of my head (OK, that last part wasn't quite right, but it was still hilarious).
On a cub cadet 1046vt mower deck spindle, I worked on replacing bolts. I wouldn't call these "true" self-tapping bolts because they don't look like the ones in the picture. I define self-tapping as having a drill/cutting tip. They did work to self-tap into aluminum, but you must be careful to line them up straight, or you can run a tap through first if you prefer.
These bolts are marketed as "self-tapping. " Two of these bolts broke off at the head before they were fully seated when I used them to replace two spindles on my Cub Cadet mower deck. I expected these bolts to be tough enough to resist this, as tapping the spindle holes before installing the screws (which I could have easily done) is not recommended anywhere. br>br>I can't say if these are worse than other spindle bolts, but they should be installed with caution. After the first two broke, I only turned each one a quarter turn at a time to avoid overheating them. I'd back the bolt out and try again if it felt like it was becoming more difficult to turn. I also used an antiseptic. seize the bolts to keep them from breaking as they are threaded in. However, I'm not sure if it was effective.
The hex screws are self-tapping and do an excellent job. I'm considering purchasing a second set.
I did run tap in holes, but I discovered that you don't want to tap all the way down because you want a bit of tightness or the alum will strip out. spindles are simple to use.
When tightening, the heads snap off just like everyone else's. They do a good job of self-tapping, but they aren't powerful enough to handle the torque required to tap. Two of the eight bolts snapped, and I now have to drill out the shaft of the bolt that is still stuck in the spindle. Without a doubt, it's a low-cost product.
It's all nonsense!.
