I believe the leads are a little larger than the retaining nuts on the Weller 8200, but you can grind them down to the proper size to fit through the nuts. This is merely my opinion.
I'm not sure where they're made (I didn't keep the package), but I had to bend the ends to make them fit my old D550. Two pairs of pliers made it simple.
These soldering tips are compatible with the Weller Model D550 (260w/200w) and D650 (300w/200w) dual heat soldering guns, but I'm not sure which model you're referring to in your question.

D550 appears to come in two models, each with its own set of specifications. However, this is not mentioned anywhere on the information page. When they say "Fits D550," they're referring to nuts with a 7/16" opening, not a 5/16" opening. The 5/16ths model will obviously not fit these tips. I'm not sure why the company used the same model number for two different soldering guns. And did the person who made this page have any idea that this model number has two different versions? Uh. It appears that this is not the case.
High-quality original.
Note. When it comes to electricity, aluminum and copper are a no-no. Cleaning the tubes on the soldering gun is a difficult task, but one that must be completed. Model numbers are fascinating to those of us who have vintage soldering guns, but we also need to know the wattage range of the tips being sold in many cases. That information appears to be understood every time the model of what fits what is shown. However, not every model number is included in the list. I have two soldering guns; the decal glue is missing, but I believe one is 100 watts and the other is 200 watts. This also applies to the providers of these suggestions. INCLUDE THE WORKING WATTAGE ON THE LIST! (along with the rest of the description's good points).
The tips are 3 1/4 inches long overall, and the leads are about 13/16" (2 cm) center-to-center. center. The squareness of the leads is approximately 1/8".
I had no idea these tips were bigger than the ones I required. To fit my soldering gun (140/100w), I had to file down the ends to a reduced round shape, but they work fine and may last longer than the originals due to their weight. br>On the original tip, I only got about five minutes before it burned out and split in half. It could have been bent due to a fall and then straightened out again.
When I received the item, I tried to fit the tips into my iron, but they wouldn't fit. I bent it a little to make it fit, but it wouldn't heat up enough to melt solder. I simply called customer service and inquired about tech support, but was told there was none available. She instructed me to return it, but I kept it after the due date had passed. She advised me to visit your website, which I did, but I was unable to find any assistance in my search for the correct tip to make my iron work. br>JUST TO KEEP UP WITH THE TIMES: I AM AN AMAZON CUSTOMER, BUT I WAS FORCED TO USE A COMPETITOR IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE SERVICE I REQUIRED. AMAZON HAS MADE ME EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.
I've been tinkering and cleaning for a while now. I neglected to follow my previous advice and was perplexed as to why it did not heat up. I retightened it and attempted to tin it once more without success. br>br>I purchased these, and they have performed admirably thus far. I've been tinning and cleaning off the tip of my solder gun when I use it now, as I should have been all along, so they should last a long time, especially since the new ones heat up quickly. I used my watt meter to figure out that the last tip didn't require very many watts. With my solder gun on low and high, the new tip is very close to the actual watt output.
This item is also non-refundable. These tips will not fit on my Weller 9400 gun. They will not accept any returns. So I'm just out of money and have two useless suggestions. When placing an order, be cautious.
