Here are a few good things I think these stencils are very well made and will work very well with your plasma cutter if they work. I do not like It is claimed that their product is compatible with Hypertherm powermax 30 plasma cutters, but that's not true. A lower ring of the torch drag shield should ride along the edge of the stencils however, the stencils are thick enough to run along the middle of the shield rather than the edge. Due to this, the holes are either too big or too small depending on which side of the stencil is used. In my email correspondence with the manufacturer, I told them about the problem I was facing, and they blamed Hypertherm. The Hypertherm drag shield is a poor design, and I will have to accept it as part of my life. The fact that the product was designed to be used with the plasma cutter and not the other way around makes that a bit ridiculous. Due to the fact that I now have these useless stencils, I have been trying to find a way to make them useful. It didn't work because it made the copper on the shield too thin, and it fell off the stencil the moment I tried to use it. I had to file the edge of the drag shield down to make it ride on the stencil correctly. Other drag shields recommended by them worked with my torch as well, but neither of them did. Taking the stencils to a machine shop and having the edges of the stencils cut down to make them fit the plasm cutter would be the only way to make these work. This is not good, because I purchased the circle, square, and cross versions of their stencils, and I'm sure having them machined down will cost a lot more than I paid for the stencils themselves. All that is left to say is they are high quality products that are unfortunately completely worthless.
Although I did not make it, my own hands would not have been able to do it. As much as I dislike the hassle and cost involved in producing these myself, I am willing to pay the convenience fee. As far as I can tell, I haven't noticed any manufacturing issues.
In the case of my Hypertherm Powermax 65, I use the outside radius all the time. I can easily maneuver my torch around the outside of the blades for perfect cuts since they are so tall. Love them!.
Just what I was looking for. It is just that I don't want to slip and cut myself! I understand they can be welded and repaired, but I am not sure they would look as nice as they do.
It is not cheap to buy them. It is true that you get what you pay for. In this case, that is wonderful. Despite the high price, I was very impressed with the thickness and solid feel of these. The next time I buy, I will.
I can clamp the template down and it will work.
