Selected User Reviews For EWCS 4 Gauge Premium Extra Flexible Welding Cable 600 Volt - Red - 20 Feet - Made in the USA
It's a 6 awg rather than a 4 awg. That's a big difference, and if I hadn't known better, I could have gotten hurt because it says 4 on the side, which isn't the same as 4awg. You said it was 4 awg, but it's actually 6. Have you ever heard of fulse advertising? This can't go on.
This is the ideal wire for the job. I needed a true 4 gauge pure copper wire, and this wire fit the bill perfectly. That's exactly what I got. The insulation is dense, but it is also malleable. I worked in mobile electronics for 7 years and installed a lot of sound systems over the years, so I bought this to wire an amplifier. This is the ideal wire for the task at hand. Made in the USA (which is one of the reasons I bought it, as well as the fact that I knew it would be a high-quality item). EWCS did a fantastic job.
It is, in fact, 6 gauge. This was for a car stereo that put out around 1000 watts. It'll suffice for my purposes, but it's not 4 gauge. It is made of 6 gauge steel. It isn't aluminum wire, at the very least.
Hello: br>br>As a result, I've used EWCS wire a lot. Today, this wire appeared to be much smaller than 4 AWG. So I took it out of the package and compared it to some other 4 gauge wire I had on hand. br>br>You decide. It appears to be a 6 gauge wire. I used a ruler to measure because I didn't have my calibers. At best, it measures 3/16", but it's more like 2/16", or about 5mm. The wire's printing isn't what I'm used to seeing on EWCS wire, and the AWG jacket has no indication. br>br>I contacted Amazon about the discrepancies, and the wire has been returned. Take a look at the images for yourself. br>br>In addition, I recently ordered 0 gauge EWCS wire, which is 0 gauge, so I'm disappointed that I'll have to deal with this.
I made quick release battery cables for my off-road Land Rover with the wire. They've been thoroughly tested and found to be excellent, very flexible, and capable of withstanding extreme heat. This size of wire is very expensive in Colombia for automotive wiring (3-strand). It costs four times as much).
This wire is flawless in terms of appearance, feel, and flex. It's thick, and it feels solid and tough while remaining flexible. When you pick up the jacket, you can immediately sense its assertive toughness. This wire is superior to any other brand, and it is also very reasonably priced.
