Yes, I took out the barbed fitting and replaced it with a standard flare fitting. The performance has left me very pleased. I don't weld very often, but it appears that I am wasting less gas than I was with the previous pressure regulator system.
Flow control is the type of unit this is. The gauge displays tank pressure in psi and includes a sight glass for determining flow rate. The knob directly above the outflow line adjusts the flow (how high the little ball is lifted by the gas). As far as baseline flow rates are concerned, consult your manufacturer's instructions. I hope this information is useful.
My mig welder likes it a lot.
It was designed to fit a standard welding tank, which in my case was a Co2/Argon mix for Mig welding.

I marked the adjustment knob to get the same placement, but I get different flow rates. —update—- —update—- —update—- —update—- —update—- —update— 2019br>The seller replaced the faulty flow meter promptly and courteously. The replacement hasn't caused me any problems. Thank you very much. br>br>.
I bought this flowmeter in November and have only used it to test one bottle of gas. The flowmeter has stopped working after the second full bottle of gas. I'm not sure what the issue is, but I'd like to speak with the seller/manufacturer to see if we can come up with a solution. When this flowmeter works, it's a good deal. br>br>Edit 6/9/20br>br>br>Seller has finally reached out to me. I was offered money in exchange for my neutral review being removed. For the past two days, they've been arguing back and forth. I'm looking for a working replacement or a refund. Paid $59. The flowmeter costs $99 USD. They'll only give you $50 if you're lucky. This flowmeter is one I would avoid buying. It appears that these items are being sold by some shady fly-by-night outfit. The one-year warranty that came with it when I bought it appears to be invalid.
It's a little difficult to read at first, but once you get the hang of it, it'll work like a charm. This was purchased as a last-minute replacement for a 270-dollar one that had been damaged during the shipping process. I cancelled the order after it was installed. I'm not going to buy any more of those high-priced ones. It does the same job for a fraction of the cost.
This regulator outperforms my previous Argon tank in terms of performance. Taking into account the product's manufacturing quality, as well as the materials used (all of which are of excellent quality - at the price I paid for metals and other parts - It is unquestionably a fantastic deal!.
I tried tightening and loosening on two different tanks several times in the hopes of burnishing the brass in, which is usually soft enough to deform and seal itself. It hissed again, hinting at a leak. br>br>After a few failed attempts, I rubbed the ball seat with red/maroon scotchbright to freshen it up, and it appears to have helped. It's still not 100% sealed like my nicer UL listed one after testing thread seal with soapy water. I bought it specifically for TIG and argon welding. br>The glass tower of the gauge has separate Argon and Carbon Dioxide flow marks, allowing it to be used for either type of gas. After "massaging" the seal a little, the gauge valves and dials are smooth and appear to be sturdy enough for now. Let's see how long this thing can withstand 2200 psi from full gas tanks.
For the price, this is a fantastic unit! It worked flawlessly when I used it to install a new HVAC compressor and purge the lines.
It saves me money on gas and is very efficient and consistent.
I initially purchased two, but when they arrived, I was so impressed that I purchased two more because they were such a good deal.
