Micro Torch Electric Ignition Gas Burner Bunsen Butane

I used it three times before it started shooting out a massive flame, the safety stopped working, and the button that keeps the flame even broke. This is a complete and utter blunder. Beware! After some time (for me, a couple of years of very infrequent use), the on-demand feature becomes more useful. When the off switch is turned off, the flame will not go out for up to 30 seconds, and gas will continue to hiss out of the unit. Extremely hazardous!.

It's something I've had for a long time and use. Mine is in excellent condition. I've had it for a few years and use it once or twice a week without issue.

My unit is a little older. The MT- is still in use. 770, but most likely from 2004/2005 (the handle has a different pattern than the current Amazon photo). It doesn't get much use, but it always comes in handy when I need it. Maybe manufacturing has changed since then, but I mostly use it in the garage for quick tasks like heating up a seized bolt or melting the ends of nylon rope/cord. as a result of the 1- stars?.

Fire Mountain Gems was where I got this torch. The first two times I tried it, it worked perfectly. It would then refuse to turn off. To turn it off, I'll need to pry the off switch open with a screwdriver. With a lit 1400 degree torch in one hand and a screwdriver in the other, it's a little scary, and shutting it off takes several minutes. "We need to conduct a review of all of the torches in stock," Fire Mountain Gems said when I contacted them. In two weeks, we'll contact you. " I wouldn't recommend using this torch; it's quite frightening.
