I took the lighter out of the box to use it on a paracord project, but there was no flame. I took it apart and discovered that there was no butane in the fuel cell, so I filled it with some butane I had on hand, closed it up, waited about 15 minutes, and tried to use it again, only to find that there was no flame. When I reassembled the fuel cell, there was no butane. The fuel cell had a crack in it, and the new butane I added bled out. I'll need to go to the store and purchase a new fuel cell. It would have been more convenient if I had simply purchased this torch from a retail store to begin with.
The safety catch is a pain to remove, but with a Dremel tool, it can be done quickly. At times, the piezoelectric ignitor can be a pain. Pulling the unit apart and reassembling it usually gets it to work again when it fails to ignite the butane. If you put the fuel cell in backwards, the metal part that pushes the fuel cell's valve open will bend, and adjusting the bent metal piece is a trial and error process. As the fuel is consumed, it appears that the flame adjustment on the fuel cell will need to be adjusted a few times. The device produces a sootless flame that is precise and pinpoint. The unit is an excellent value for the money. If I misplaced this one, I'd go out and buy another.
On a small scale, I perform a lot of quick electrical wiring repairs, such as car radios and motorcycle wiring. This little device comes in handy when I only have a few minutes to complete a task. The safety lock design of the trigger part does not appeal to me. Pulling the trigger is a painstaking or awkward process. To pull the trigger, you end up doing this backwards and forwards finger motion. On mine, I removed the plastic ledges with a shard box cutter, but it is strongly advised against tampering with safety switches in any device. So keep an eye on things. br>br>It's great, and if this one breaks or wears out, I'll buy another. It is not made of high-quality materials, but it is very usable, and I believe that with proper care, it will serve you well. I'm not sure how long a small butane refill should last. They don't last very long in my opinion, so stock up on extras.
a flameproof torch When I don't want to risk damaging or scratching my nice torch lighter, I use this. It isn't quite as powerful, but it floats, so I don't mind if it falls on a rock or in the ocean. Allows me to glow in the wind. It's difficult to tell if a lighter is lit or not in a noisy, bright environment. I simply keep it close to the target while keeping an eye out for smoke.
Good.
WARNING: USE CAUTION. HE MAKES USE OF CHEAP LIGHTERS. It does not always extinguish the flames. It's only good for a split second.
luvit.
I was able to make it work after 30 minutes of fiddling with it. But not for an extended period of time. It's also extremely dangerous because the flame burns for 3 or 4 seconds after the button is released, and the casing tends to fall apart as you try to light it. This item should never be purchased!.
