The torch does not have a child lock.
I've tried but haven't had any luck. I just buy new ones because they're so cheap.
Only clear and black are allowed.
I've used every type of butane lighter imaginable, and I can assure you that butane is butane. I own a Blazer that has been lit over 200,000 times! The "extra refined" claim is nonsense to promote a lighter's own brand of butane, which they clearly purchase from a butane supplier who simply fills their can. It's all for show. Don't be alarmed if you buy butane from the supermarket.

br>As a cigar smoker, this lighter shines in a number of ways.
- It illuminates in a consistent mannerbr>- Even in a light breeze, it stays lit. br>- Without having to hold the ignition button, you can latch the lighter on to keep the flame burning continuously. br>- It's not too heavybr>- The Cap keeps the lighter from igniting accidentally in your pocket!
- *** and my favorite feature is being able to see how much gas you have left**
(This is a personal pet peeve of mine - So many metal lighters look great and feel great in your hand, but you can't tell if they're empty or full until you go to light your second cigar and realize you're out of gas! )br>br>This little lighter is a real winner in terms of functionality. br>For the following reasons, I have deducted one star.
- Presented in: The current packaging is a blister pack with a cardboard backing, which is extremely inadequate. I gave the same make/model as a gift a few years ago, and it came in a nice blue BLAZER box. (Obviously, this isn't the case anymore)br>br>- Labels with cautionary information: Around the lighter barrel are some rather unappealing warning stickers that appear to warn you that lighters can be dangerous (perhaps because they burn things?). So there you have it. )br>br>4/5 star rating - a wonderful item.
I've been using these to solder wire for years when I couldn't use a regular iron. Pinpoint flame, locking flame option, large butane capacity, and no obtrusive child-proof ignition button It's available in a variety of colors, but my personal favorite is clear. I usually get about two years of heavy use out of them, but they can last up to three years in extreme cases. When there is no electricity, this is extremely useful.
Finally, a torch that isn't prone to breaking. I've beaten this lighter to death and it still works as well as the day I bought it. Every torch I've ever purchased has broken far too quickly and after only a few hours of use. I also have a blazer big shot, but I never thought to look to see if they made a pocket torch. I'm glad I did, but I wish I'd done it earlier.
I recently purchased this lighter/mini torch, which has performed admirably thus far. The clear 'tank,' which allows you to see how much fuel is left, is one of my favorite features. I had no trouble filling it up as soon as I got it out of the package. The flame adjustment is a bit disappointing, but I'm confident it will light whatever I use it on. I like that it has a 'flame on' lock, so you can put it on your workbench and use both hands to heat or cook. Regardless of what you're doing. I have no reservations in recommending the PB 207 micro torch over my Zippo when it comes to lighting a campfire while holding the lighter nearly upside down. A quick word of caution: This lighter comes in a 'Child Resistant' version, the PB 207CR.
Like my first one, which died after a long period of time. I got the industrial version, which doesn't have the child safety feature on the button. It's the same one I bought 15 years ago and only had for a year or so. The flame adjustment on the particular torch I received this time was a little wonky. Even with the adjuster set to the lowest setting, it's still quite high. I'm sure I can disassemble the lighter and adjust the adjuster to bring the flame closer to the operating range I require. But, since it works fine as is and only wastes a small amount of butane, I'm going to leave it alone.
This lighter had a previous version that I really liked. However, it used to have a safety that is now missing. You may accidentally light it (in your pocket) if the cap is removed. It's also possible that the button will stay lit if you remove your thumb from it.
This was purchased as a backup to the one I've had for nearly 15 years. It's a real workhorse that just keeps on working. The best lighter that I have ever used.
