I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. It should seal nicely if the mason jar fits into this size bag. Before I use the heat gun, I secure the opening with scotch tape. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
When I shrink wrap my soap, I leave a portion of the top open. The soap will then be able to breathe, and they will be able to smell the soap from the top.
They're fine; I bought them recently to wrap some homemade soaps. I'm not sure how to tell if the gauges are yellow or not. A slight yellow tint runs through the entire stack of 500, but each one is crystal clear.
They get a lot smaller. I use a craft heat gun, which I find to be very effective. I pack handcrafted soaps in the bags.

I almost didn't buy them because of it, but I figured if there was a problem, I could return them. Regardless. br>br> They do appear yellow when stacked in a stack. When they're used, however, they're completely clear and have no color. They also shrink very easily and quickly, which I like, and I will buy them again!.
The "holes" problem that everyone complains about will be illustrated with pictures. br>br>Thank you, Great Joy Soaps; I had never wrapped my soaps before until I decided to give it a try; NOT TRUE, they have holes; NOT TRUE, they do not seal; they do, however, seal perfectly. br>br>If you puncture a tiny hole to let the air out, it will expand horribly; instead, you should cut a corner (a little bit) with a scissor, not toothpick holes. br>br>Also, if you don't snip the corner, don't tap the air out of the bag if your surface isn't clean from debris, because as the plastic heats up, it becomes more fragile, and anything can cut through it when you press it against a dirty surface, as I discovered when oats fell out of my soaps and onto the counter and cut through the plastic when I applied heat and tapped down the air. br>br>To seal, use the hotter settings; mine seals completely. br>br>Excellent product; I first purchased the 4x4 and am now purchasing the 6x6. br>br>Industrial odor? I can't smell anything as a whole, and I can't smell anything individually. In fact, leave an opening so you can smell your products through the plastic, because once sealed, you can smell anything. br>br>I'm not sure if there was a previous lot that was messed up, but my experience has been A, and you get a lot for your money.
I'll make another purchase. Despite the fact that I had read several negative reviews about this product, I decided to give it a try. When the plastic was stacked, it did have a yellow tint. The wrapping appears clear after I've put my soap in it. It was well-sealed, and I processed over 300 bars without a single bag failure. It also has a faint plastic odor that I didn't notice until it was still in the original 500 bag packaging. So go ahead and sniff it; once you've done so, you won't even notice it until the plastic is melted to seal it. Because you're melting plastic, it'll have a melting plastic odor.
I despise writing reviews, but man, these things changed my life. I'd been making them for fun for a few years, wrapping them in parchment paper and twine to give as gifts and occasionally selling them. It would take about three minutes for each bar to be made. Wrapping takes 4 minutes (cutting the paper, wrapping it, and measuring it). as well as cutting the twine, tying it, and writing the label by hand). It now takes 10 seconds for me to complete the task. to say the least. And I've got a nice smooth surface on which to stick printed labels (not shown because I haven't finished that part yet). br>br>I was concerned that I would need a heat gun, but my hair dried perfectly on the highest setting. I took the advice of one of the reviewers and snipped a TINY piece from each corner to allow the corners to seal tightly. I also like the fact that there is a hole in the face for people to smell the soap. It's clear (rather than yellow, as some claim). And there isn't much of a plastic odor. They're a perfect match for my soap bars - br>I couldn't be more pleased with these!.
This shrink wrap is a personal favorite of mine. It's a pocket, as the name suggests. I removed the excess, and my soap now has a beautiful appearance.
These totes are fantastic. They're exactly what I was looking for and at a great price. A "yellowish" color has been mentioned by some reviewers, but this is only when the bags are stacked together. It's most likely due to the light not being able to pass through all of the bags, because if you hold up one of the bags alone, it's completely clear!.
I should've known better because the deal seemed too good to be true. Because the bags have a strong chemical odor, I can't use them to wrap my homemade soaps in them. Let's talk about wrapping. Using a heat sealer to seal the bags is nearly impossible. When you try to close them, they never completely close, leaving an open gap. I had to go through ten bags before I was able to seal just one bar of soap. If using a heat gun is beneficial, they will shrink. In addition, it reduces the size of one's wallet. I'll pay a little more and stick with my favorite shrink wrap brand (I'll have no choice because these are useless).
They're also not flat (the edges are rolled, as if I flipped the entre batch over with the hot gun). This isn't going to help me at all. The quality is poor. They didn't come in a box like the first ones, but instead in a stretch band!.
