We had a new driveway installed, and it was supposed to cure for a few weeks before we used it. The driveways were marked with these cones. We didn't turn on the light. We did, however, install one of the lights, which made it more prone to being blown over in the wind. There were no more issues after I turned off the light. br>br>The only issue that could have arisen was the color fading. Because the sun in Florida is so strong, this is understandable. However, I would have preferred the bright orange color to be preserved.
I bought these a couple of months ago to prevent people from making u-turns. When my kids are riding their bikes down my driveway, they make a U-turn. They appealed to me because they fold up and are thus more convenient to store. br>br>I've used them about four times now, each time using only two cones, and the first time I collapsed the cone, one of the interior rings that keeps it upright snapped. The cone continued to function, but collapsing it properly was extremely difficult. The same thing happened to me this afternoon when I was using two cones I'd never used before. In only four uses, two of the four cones broke. I was disappointed by how fragile these cones are for the price they were purchased for.
I liked it so much that I bought two of them! The quality of the materials is outstanding. The cones are of good quality and easily pop up and collapse back into their storage form. Because the bases are cloth, they are easy to tie things to, such as yellow caution tape, and they are well weighted to keep the cones in place. The only regret I have is that I did not purchase them sooner.
We have a big RV, so I've been carrying standard cones around for years to mark where my slides protrude in places like Walmart parking lots. I came across these collapsible units and decided to try them out. They do a fantastic job and take up a lot less room! The only complaint I have is that when collapsing them, they retain rain water and you have to shake them around, but I had to wipe the old ones down anyway, so it's not a big deal. But I really like how much space you save!.
The cones are fantastic in and of themselves. It's simple to set up and doesn't take up much room. The carrying case is very nice. Because one of the lights did not work, I returned the first purchase. So far, two of the lights in the second set are not working. I'm thinking of keeping them regardless of the lights because they're a reasonable price even without them.
We ordered these because I needed 20 cones for a large commercial job in two days and this was the only thing I could find that quickly; they are very nice, but a little small for a commercial job to mark off where construction work is taking place while semi-tractors pull in and maneuver around the property; they are very nice, but a little small for a commercial job to mark off where construction work is taking place while semi-tractors pull in and maneuver around the property. We've had some squalls with 40 - 50 mph winds due to tropical storm Dorian spinning around. Winds gusted to 60 miles per hour, causing some turbulence - They were, however, heavy enough to withstand normal winds in normal conditions. They're a good size for private vehicles, but they're a little small for semis to see, but the LED lights help. They arrive collapsed and in a zippered case, which will be useful when we're done with this job because the guys will be able to store them in the back of their trucks more easily in case they're needed at other jobs in the future.
Because truck campers have less storage space than most RVs, the collapsible feature of this is ideal! I wrote "OCCUPIED" across the cone in black marker, followed by our last name. It appears to be in good condition. made to last; I also like the reflective tape around the cone for increased visibility at night.
This is a nice product that I use to mark campsites as "occupied," but I would also use it in the event of a road emergency. I drilled two holes in the base's opposite corners so that I can use tent pegs to secure it if it gets windy. Spikes could be used as well. For the purpose it was created, it comes highly recommended.
