This is a simple hasp for beginners. It was simple to put in place. The black finish is actually quite nice and appears to be very durable. I gave it four stars because it won't provide much security. The provided screws aren't very long (3/4 inch), so anyone with a little determination and a few minutes could probably get in with just a hammer. However, it keeps the shed door shut, looks nice, and appears to last a long time, so it's a good deal.
For my wooden gate, I needed a new lock. This item was exactly what I needed; it came with the correct screws and was simple to put together. I think it took me about five minutes. maybe. I liked how I could use this to latch the gate and not have to use a separate latch to keep it closed without having to lock it.
