Those, not these, are the ones to buy! UPDATE: Buy the RIGHT tool for the job, not the cheapest one! I purchased these (New Pig's Quick Response Home Water 12gal Kit) as well as the Quick Dam QD65- 4 Pack of Water Activated 5ft Flood Barriers to keep in your emergency kit
3/5

In the spring, Texas floods a lot. br>Pig came in a big box with six 3" x 48" socks and fifteen (15) 15" x 19" absorbent water pads. br>QuickDam came in a small grocery bag. However, the plastic is thick and resealable, and it has a nice little handle. br>Well, the Valentine's Freeze has settled in around Dallas for a week. Days with temperatures ranging from 2 to 20 degrees Celsius.   We did everything we could to stay alive (there was no power and no water after the second day).   br>Despite the fact that we were constantly collecting snow to melt and filling milk jugs with boiling water from our camp stove and placing them all along the water lines into For 5 days and nights (no light!) throughout the house The pipes became icily icily icily icily icily     br>On the sixth day, the temperature soared to a record-breaking 20 degrees. gurgling was heard!     Our hard work had been rewarded!   We were able to drink!   We turned all of the faucets on full blast. (At long last!) I flushed the toilets.   Filling anything that could hold water to boil (there were still two more days of temperatures below 30 degrees (and no water) to go).   In the garage, my son overheard my son spewing. br>I yelled at him to keep filling it up. flushing (in the hopes that this would help) Reduce the pressure in the pipe that has burst. He was surrounded by piles of (now damp) plastic wrap!     It was like watching the Keystone Cops from the corner of my eye on his side!   I rushed over to help as soon as I could, but it was a complete disaster.   We finally got all six pigs in place, but nothing seemed to be working.   br>We got the pads out and started playing. However, they appeared to float in the 1/4" of water we'd placed them in. br>By this time, the Quick Dam area had become nothing more than a puddle of water. The Pig section of the garage was flooded, with 15"x19" sheets of pale blue flotsam strewn about. There's a lot of flotsam in the air.

We wrung out the 15 "sheets" even though they were only slightly damp. br>By the time we returned to the garage, the floor was just damp concrete, thanks to the Quick Dams doing their job yet again. br>We went ahead and did it. Just for fun, I tossed the Pig pieces around. br>SURPRISINGLY, once the Pig socks and sheets had been wrung out, they performed MUCH better! br>It's as if they'd been treated with a hydrophobic treatment until we squeezed it all out? My basement provided a water-proofing solution at a reasonable price
5/5

Based heating is great, but the system's overflow has flooded our basement several times because it only has a fake drain that goes about six inches down. Because the water from the house drains above ground level in the basement, dealing with boiler overflow situations is difficult. The first option was to include a battery-powered device. sensors that are powered by water This alerted us to the upcoming overflow, but it was too late to prevent flooding. Adding something like a basement pump, which is common in Midwest basements, would be costly and require a significant amount of labor and materials. The Pig method is fantastic because it allows us to catch the majority of the overflow water while still allowing us to use the water sensor. My fear in the past was that if the boiler overflow problem occurred while we were away for whatever reason, we would return to a flooded basement. Because I had to test the product, the pig solution matches the absorption numbers reported, and the sheets that come with the cylindrical pigs also work. Even though only the two lower layers were in direct contact with the water level, I tested a six-layer stack and all water in my test tub was absorbed. This is a simple and appealing solution to a problem that has plagued me for years. Thank you for coming up with such a unique product.

Absorbers of water
3/5

I wasn't expecting anything like this. Yes, they absorb water, but I'm not sure if a towel wouldn't do the job just as well. When you pick them up, water begins to pour out of them. I was let down.

These methods are effective
5/5

I've used these to keep water out of a leaking garage door several times. They are effective. Allow them to air dry, but not in direct sunlight, after giving them a gentle squeeze to drain the water. You never know when you'll need something like this, so you'll be happy with the pieces. Made in the United States of America!.

For minor floods, this is a good option
5/5

The pigs arrived just in time for the rainstorm to begin. For minor floods, these are ideal. They were used to absorb and contain groundwater from the deluge. I wrung them out and put them back in the bag. When wringing out the water, just be gentle. Because it is not very absorbent, the purpose is defeated
3/5

I've been using these for a couple of months and it's been a frustrating experience. They don't take in a lot of information. In fact, the socks miraculously stay dry while the water they were supposed to absorb seeps through and makes a big mess under the sock. Instead, I purchased some Quick Dam products, which are far superior. I was let down.

Small basement leaks are no problem with this product
5/5

The outside wall of my basement is dripping with water. Water will not be able to spread across the floor with the use of these items. I strongly advise you to do so.

It was a success
5/5

I hope they last a long time; they're incredible! Worked on a leaky garage area as needed. I was able to dry out the sopping wet "snakes" and pads in the sun, but I'm not sure what to do if you don't have access to sunlight following a rainstorm. I inquired on the website if these could be dried, but received no response.
