Questions & Answers

Is it possible for this to self-vent when it isn't being used to pour? I'm looking for a gas can that can withstand altitude changes. It is difficult to locate 100% gas in the area where I need it. ?

The lid of this can is sealed and has an automatic positive-pressure relief system that vents between 3 and 5 psig (0. 2 and 0. To avoid an explosion, a pressure of 35 bar should be used.

Is the 1" nozzle too big to dispense gasoline directly into a car, or is it only big enough to fit the bigger opening on diesel cars and trucks?

A typical unleaded gasoline nozzle is only 13/16" in diameter. If the spout is more than 1 inch long, it will not fit into the flapper's hole.

Flexible hoses with diameters of 5/8" and 1" are available from Justrite. What is the maximum diameter of the hose that can be used?

This part number is listed with a 5/8 hose, which is what mine came with. I have a 5 gallon can with a 1 inch hose, but I prefer the 5/8" for all of my lawn and yard equipment. On the larger can, I'm considering swapping out the larger one.

Where did this come from?

My package arrived on the 28th of December, 2021. MADE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! Thank you, Justrite, for producing such high-quality cans right here in the United States! As long as you keep doing what you're doing, I'll keep buying!

THE BEST GAS CAN ON THE MARKET! Forget about those cheap plastic cans with "high-tech" safety pouring spouts that will eventually crack
5/5

This is a tough metal can with a fantastic paint finish. This can reminds me of the cans my father had from his father, but this one has a nicer finish! The only flaw I can find is that there is no stopper for the pouring nozzle. Others have suggested simply bending it down. It's a little dusty and windy here. Because bending it down won't keep the dust out, I looked on Amazon for something that would fit the nozzle and found this: The silicone stopper is a perfect fit in the nozzle. Both the gas can and the stopper are a fantastic deal when purchased together! br>br>MODIFICATION 03- ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Even so, it's still the best gas can money can buy. I was able to get rid of all of my plastic cans. On my end, the stopper link appears to be fine, but one commentor reports that it does not work because it is an Amazon Smile link. The stopper's official title is as follows: 11-WIDGETCO 4 White Silicone Rubber Stoppersbr>br>WIDGETCO 4 White Silicone Rubber Stoppersbr>br>WIDGETCO 4 White Silicone Rubber Stoppersbr>br>WIDGETCO 4 White Silicone Rubber Stoppersbr> 2020 - It's still the best gas can you've ever seen! There are no problems with this gas can at all. After two years of use, I am completely satisfied.

I ordered a steel gas can on August 31, 2019, and I am unable to recommend it
3/5

At first, I thought I'd made a wise decision by choosing the highly regulated plastic gas cans over the highly regulated metal gas cans, which never work properly, leak, or spill gas. During the filling of the steel can with gas and the filling of the generators, there were no leaks in any part of the can. I kept the gas can in the shed with the rest of my tools, as I always did. It was roughly 10% to 20% full at that time. I'm not sure when it happened because the steel gas had been stored for the winter, but it happened within the last 14 days or so. It collapsed in on itself, as if there was a negative pressure from a vacuum inside it. The steel gas can is no longer functional. I'm hoping the seller will contact me about the problem and resolve it, as most people expect a high-end steel can to last more than two months. I'll post photos of the gas can later to demonstrate the extent of the damage.

Even if you haven't used it, you can't return it
3/5

This appears to be a fantastic product, but keep in mind that you will be unable to return it once you have received it. When I opened the box, I realized it was much larger than I required. I was about to return it to Amazon and buy two smaller ones (which would have cost more money), but it was exactly what I needed. No go. Despite the fact that the box was the only thing that was open. The can has not been tampered with in any way. Even the hardware is still protected by a plastic seal that hasn't been tampered with. That's not right at all. If it's been filled, I believe it says it's not returnable. Mine was not, and the tank's lid had never been opened!.

However, do not fill it to the brim with 5 gallons of water. When my brand new gas can with 5 gallons of fuel began to leak due to the outside ambient temperature, I was a little disappointed. It sat in the back of my truck for about three hours at around 75 degrees Fahrenheit - not in the direct sunlight I was surprised to smell gas and see a steady stream of gas (coming from the filling hole) running down the bed when I took the can to fill the dirt bikes. I've only put about four times since then. 5 gallons of water and voila! Even when it's hot, there's no spillage. br>br>In addition, the dispensing lever rubs against the solid handle and gets stuck every time, so I have to release the dispensing lever a few seconds before reaching the desired volume. It is neither secure nor practical. For the price of this can, it's not exactly what I expected. br>br>I contacted Amazon, who is sending me a replacement unit. When I get a chance to try out the new can, I'll update this review. I'm hoping my can was simply defective, and I appreciate Amazon's patience with me during this ordeal. NEW CAN UPDATE:BR>BR>NEW CAN UPDATE:BR>NEW CAN UPDATE:BR>NEW CAN UPDATE:BR> The same can be said for the fluid volume. It's time to re-evaluate this. A 4 has been assigned to it. Cannister with a capacity of five gallons. The good news is that, unlike the previous cannister, this one does not have a faulty lever. In the end, this is still the best gas can I've ever owned, and I would strongly advise you to buy it. I'm giving it a four-star rating because I'm not sure how long it will last. After a few years, I'll rewrite this review.

I was using an old plastic 1 gallon can with a split cap, so I bought this and cried once, but I knew I bought the right can the first time
5/5

I thought I was crazy when I saw a gas can for $60. It was a struggle for me to pay for something as basic as a gas can. br>br>Originally, I was looking to purchase one of the Surecan gas cans with the pivoting spout on the bottom; however, after looking at what was available in the big box stores and even online, I came to the conclusion that I would just spend the money on a can that I hoped would last me a lifetime. br>br> But for only $12 more, I figured an all-metal construction can that complied with OSHA safety standards was worth it. This can is built like a tank, and I am very happy with it. The fill lid's spring tension is extremely high, but it's designed that way in order to seal well, which it does. The first time I filled it up with non-ethanol fuel, it was a disaster. ethanol as a fuel I couldn't smell any gas in the car on the way back home after several stops, and I couldn't smell any fuel in the garage, either. I bought the model with the 5/8 spout, and it's perfect for what I need it for. I had no problems with fuel flow either; even with the small spout, I was able to fill a push mower in what seemed like seconds. The handle for dispensing fuel is far more user-friendly than anything I've used previously, particularly the EPA push nozzles, which are a pain to use. The only disadvantage, if you can call it that, was that something got on the can during the painting process, as shown in the second photo. br>br>Highly recommended; as the old adage goes, you get exactly what you pay for. Well, this item is proof of that.
