This item is of excellent quality and is well worth the money. The mat's material is both flexible and rigid, allowing it to be rolled up while still holding its shape. It is also heavy duty. The button snaps on the mat's opposing ends are also securely placed and do not distort. The wrist strap is also of good quality, being stretchable, adjustable, and with a locking feature to prevent the strap from loosening and preventing a solid contact (I have large wrists). For the strap's alligator hook, they ditched the banana connector design in favor of a solid plug-in design. I was skeptical at first when I purchased this mat because of an old video review I saw online pointing out numerous flaws, but I am happy to report that Bertech definitely put a lot of effort into ramping up this design because not a single flaw was noticeable and I am very satisfied. The price was well worth it.

It's not a bad mat; the price is reasonable, and it can easily be cut to size if necessary. Mine had to be reduced from 24 to 18 inches in length. 25 inches in length. 1 pass with an x-ray machine It only took two acts of the acto 2 blade. The advertised surface resistivity of 108–109 matches my meter's reading of 109. The only drawback is that, unlike some other mats, the vinyl isn't particularly heat resistant. It's not a good idea to do any board soldering on it directly. Placing a board flat on the mat and applying de-icer to it is all that is required. Soldering braid through some holes burned a half-millimeter hole in it. This has never happened with any of the other mats I've used. This one is probably the best for electronics disassembly and reassembly. In general, this is a good all-around mat.

It's a pity that it isn't heat resistant. The surface became melted as a result of the soldering. I assumed one side would be more heat resistant than the other, but both sides have the same problem. Only the color is appealing due to the high contrast, which allows you to see everything on the mat.

This mat does not have a square shape. It's cut in such a way that the mat's ends don't line up with the table's ends, and the long sides don't line up with the table's long edges. The run- In the center, it's about a half-inch off. If you can picture it bowing, that's what it looks like. The side closest to the back sags to the center, revealing a wood bench, while the side closest to the user hangs overhanging, giving it an unfinished appearance. It's still unattractive after I trimmed it. I would expect a higher level of quality for this kind of money. As has been stated by others, There is a lot of gassing going on. On the plus side, the gray color is attractive, and the wrist strap connectors function well.

The quality of this kit is excellent. While the fact that each component is interchangeable is a huge selling point, each piece is exceptional in its own right. The mat unrolls and lays flat without the need to tuck it away beneath a stack of books. The common ground cord fits snugly into the mat's socket. The kit includes everything you'll need to complete the project correctly. br>br>The only flaw I've discovered is that the wrist strap does not match the color of the cords (mine are both black, contrary to the picture) or mat.

When I walked around my room and then sat down and touched my computer, I would frequently experience static zaps. I ordered the Bertech ESD Mat Kit after becoming irritated with the situation and not wanting to risk damaging my electronic equipment. I had to air it out for a week because it had an unpleasant plasticky odor at first. After that, I connected the mat to an electrical ground by placing it on the floor beneath my desk. After that, there were no more static zaps.
