Other brands would be ineffective, but this one does! This is the first time I've had to use it for a choke

However, I bought a different brand and it was completely ineffective; I tried it on myself and did everything I could, but there was never any suction or force. Husband was the same, so I returned the device. I purchased this brand and tried it on myself, and it has a strong suction. We have one in our kitchen and one in our diaper bag that we take everywhere with us because I trust this device and brand.

I put it to the test on myself

To see if it worked, I tried it on myself. I'm a nurse and the mother of three children, and I had no idea I had snot in my nose until it came shooting out at breakneck speed. br>br>On a more serious note, I'm a nurse and the mother of three children. I had to perform back blows on one child who had a serious choking episode (blueberry). But what if it didn't work out? What if the thrusts and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) steps failed? I realize this is a last resort, but having it on hand makes me feel better; I keep one next to our kitchen table and one in the diaper bag when we travel.

I believe it would work, but I hope I never have to put it to the test! We tested the suction in our kit and found it to be quite powerful! This seems like a good way to get something out of a child's throat who is choking
