I'm not sure if you're referring to gauze wrap or tape, but it contains both. It's a regular roll for both of them. Also, a simple visit to their website will reveal exactly what is included in each kit, as well as how much/how many there are!
It claims to weigh 3 pounds on the packaging. 5 oz. It's light enough to bring along on a hike or a backpacking trip.
In April of 2021, I bought this kit. The dates on the packets for the medications are May 2023. I'm not sure if packets are available from the same vendor, but they should be.

Unfortunately, when I recently repurchased this, the quality was not up to par with what I had previously purchased - For more information, please continue reading. br>br>Since our backpacking group expanded to three people, I had the option of getting a bigger first aid kit / bag and abandoning the smaller Ultralight 5 kit / bag I bought a few years ago (same model as this one) - or getting a bigger first aid kit / bag and abandoning the smaller Ultralight 5 kit / bag I bought a few years ago (same model as this one) - but I decided to get a second kit, primarily for a second bag / contents that I could customize. Alternatively, you could get a second Ultralight 5 kit and split two smaller kits between multiple backpacks. I went with the latter option - Specifically, purchase a second, smaller kit, such as this one, and divide it among several packs. (Any backpacker knows what I'm talking about. ) If you have the luxury of having several people in the party, divide the weight). br>br>When I first received this kit, it was clear that it was not of the same high quality as the Ultralight 5 kit I had previously purchased. Here's what I discovered to summarize my findings and opinion:
- The outer bag is thinner, less durable, and simply less well made than the previous version I purchased a few years ago. The previous version's bag is extremely enjoyable to use - And it's held together perfectly, thanks to the high quality of the construction.
- The bag's zipper is of very poor quality - The zipper on the previous version I own is nowhere near as good as this one. This zipper gets stuck and is difficult to open or close without a lot of fumbling. Terrible.
- The inner compartment bag has a terrible seal and will not stay closed. Given that your waterproofing is provided by this inner bag, I have very little faith in my kit's ability to withstand water.
- The standard of medical content - Everything about the contents, including the packaging and appearance, appears to be low-cost and of lower quality than what I already own. Bandages, for example, appear to be less expensive. br>br>Like so many things these days, the same product you bought years ago has been slashed in price and margins to save money. Personally, I find this to be very disappointing, particularly when it comes to first aid or something you would use in the event of an injury or an emergency. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO SAVE MONEY! Adventure Medical owes the public a debt of gratitude. I'm sure I'll look for something else the next time. br>br>Thank you for taking the time to read this.
For a long time, I'd been carrying a comprehensive first-aid kit in my car, backpack, and summit pack. I decided to get this one because I was tired of carrying around such a bulky kit. br>br>It has pretty much everything I'd need as a Personal Trainer with a First Aid/CPR certification. br>br>There were two items missing: a SkinTac and a Triple Antibiotic. I'm not sure how those items went missing. br>It also appears that they cut corners and no longer use the AfterBite brand name, instead opting for a company I've never heard of. *shrug* Oh well, progress must be made. br>I've contacted the company via Amazon to inquire about the missing items; we'll see what they say.
An experienced hiker recommended this as the best med kit for a single person. In a small package, you get a lot of medical supplies. I always bring it with me when I go backpacking, hiking, or mountain biking, as well as some lukotape P sports tape, which stays on even when wet. The AMK SOL Origin Sirvival Tool Kit, which I also like and carry, is a great complement to this kit. Advantages: br>br>

- a little pricey (but building one yourself would be a lot more expensive)br>br>Bottom line: This is essential for backcountry trips or long hikes.
This is an excellent kit base. I added some small scissors, a quick clot pad, chafing wipes, second skin, KT tape, and a little more moleskin, but I think it'll be fine for most people as is. I can't comment on the waterproofing because I've only used it in light rain, but it was very light and easy to fit into my pack, even with my modifications.
It's worth noting that this isn't returnable, despite the fact that it wasn't explicitly stated. The upc barcode is blacked out, despite the zipper being ziptied, which does not appear to be correct. Although it is small and light, it is not worth the money.
I purchased this kit earlier this summer because I was in need of a medical kit that was both lightweight and waterproof. br>br>It's not bad—it's light, and the bag is water-resistant—but the contents haven't impressed me so far. I've only had to use it once, when I scraped my knee during a scramble and needed to apply a bandaid to keep it from becoming infected for the rest of the hike; unfortunately, the bandaid I applied from this pack was largely ineffective. Within minutes of applying it, two of the four sides had become unstuck, and after a half-hour, two of the four sides had become unstuck. After an hour or so, three sides had come unstuck, and I removed it because I didn't want it to fall off while I was distracted and end up as litter on the trail. br>br>To be fair to the bandaid, it was a hot day, and I was sweating profusely. I was also moving a lot because I was using it in the middle of a fairly strenuous and vertical scramble. Nonetheless, I'm confident that other brands of bandaids would have adhered better. Having said that, I still think this kit is a nice addition to my collection, and I have no regrets about purchasing it. I intend to go through the contents and replace some of the items (such as the bandaids) with better ones. However, many of the items in this kit can be used as is. is, and considering the price, I'd say it's still a good buy. There's some useful information in there, and having a waterproof and clearly-labeled notebook is extremely useful. medical kit that is clearly labeled (so that if something happens to you, a stranger can quickly locate it in your bag). As a result, I'd recommend: Buy it, but make sure to unpack and inspect it before going hiking, and replace the bandaids with some higher-quality ones. ones of high quality.
