As you know, we don't pre-schedule It is best not to lube roller bearing wheels on the move because the lube makes a mess.
This type of wheel is commonly used to create barn doors and railroad tracks. In general, we use a flat bar with a size of 3/16" x 2 1/2". I will not use 1 1/4 inches of thick materials! You will have a problem if you have any inconsistencies in your material.
I used Glenn C,2 1/2" tall by 3/8" thick, you would want the wheel to ride on the top of the V groove "not" down in the channel. The rail can bind if it lies flat against the wall, so 3/8" thick or better is recommended. Michael, *br>
While I don't know the exact dimensions of the piece of steel that this wheel rolls on, I can tell you that I used flat stock steel that was 1/8" thick and 3" tall as the rail.

Perhaps it is made from plastic or something similar There's so much plastic in the metal. There is a crack in the wheel. I used this for my gate, and it worked perfectly. The wheel at first appeared to be fine. But after several months, a crack developed and soon the wheel So I ordered a new one, and it did the exact same thing as before. Now I'm not sure what to do. In total, I have wasted about $30 on two wheels so far. Here's an update When it's more than light duty, it might be worth it to pay a few extra dollars. Compare the pics above (wheel on left). This wheel does not have structure ribs for heavier applications. You should also look at how thin the walls are at the point where the crack developed. Description of the item is very poor. There is no way that this wheel could handle even half of that weight. A great alternative (wheel on the right) for heavier applications it has support ribs. If you want heavy duty, you need to pay an additional fee.
In this case, they were purchased as part of a customer's project. Two steel doors measuring a little over nine feet tall and six feet wide were installed in the rooms. It was originally a hinged door that opened into their building, and they wanted to reduce the awkwardness of opening and closing them. Barn doors with sliding tracks were a better choice, according to us. Due to the lack of a kit option available for these items, I pieced together the track, rollers, wall supports, and door guides myself. Rollers were mounted on these casters to support the doors once they were rolled onto the The following are the videos that I chose There were grease fittings on the groove rollers to lubricate them and to ensure the rollers could withstand a lot of weight. This is what it looks like The groove fit was 1 A1/2" x 11g. The tubing fits perfectly into square holes. It was crucial that flat bar not become jammed in the groove on the bottom of the v as everything wore down over time. After installing the track and installing the casters and hanging the doors up, we were shocked at how easily these 300 pound doors moved about. Now it was no longer necessary for them to be opened and closed in the same way as before.
The original version is just the same. It is very helpful to add grease after installation with a zerk fitting. 2 heavy iron gates were recast with 4 new casters. The needle cylinder bearings should be greased by hand or with a finger before installation, then greased with a grease gun. will purchase a flexible zerk fitting hose for my grease gun in order to be able to add grease to the gun after the casters are installed because the angle of the zerk fittings prevents the grease gun from fitting properly once the casters are in place.
To complete my custom bi fold gate project, I used parts from scrap trucks that I had upgraded to use on the project. All materials for the project were upcycled but this piece was essential to its With just the right diameter and durability, it is made of durable cast iron, and the needle bearing and bushing can be lubricated for long-term use. The track follows the 3" angle iron track perfectly, and has a groove in the center of the bevel so you can do your work without going off course. It would definitely be a purchase I would make again.
Everything works as it should. The wheels displayed here were exactly what I was looking for when I needed new ones for my driveway sliding gate. The olds I already had were measured so I placed the order for two. As scheduled, the package has been received. After I returned home from work and with the help of another person, I had them on in ten minutes. It's amazing how much difference there is. Yes, it is still very early to tell how long they will last but lubing them up before use should be good. I am satisfied with the results.
I purchased all the steel I used for this project from Home Depot and it is 1/8 inch thick. The bearings in this system are ball bearings, and all you do is grease them up and it's I have found them to be extremely smooth and they have been working fine so far. The wheels will be used again in building a barn door with a mirror n I will use these.
The sliding barn door in my kitchen used these two as a stop and a hook. Over 100 pounds of steel were used to build the door I built. Rolling the door along the steel rail did not seem to be a problem for the casters.
Designed to run on top of a 1/4" angle iron, the wheels are mounted on the top of the Since the existing wheels were completely shot and weren't effective to begin with, they needed to be replaced. A set of (4) of these wheels was exactly what I needed, and I am thoroughly satisfied. Even though it was designed to run on a piece of inverted angle iron, the center groove worked perfectly for trackiing on the edge of the heavy steel on the mill's frame. It seems the guy made fun of these wheels for not having sealed bearings in one of the reviews. They are 99 apiece) To meet the requirements of my "industrial" application, I sought a cheap but durable solution. Having found what I was looking for, I am very happy. What I would advise you to do. . . We can help you if you require sealed bearing casters. You might want to invest a little bit We think there's more to it than meets the eye! Have more money so you can buy the items.
