You don't need to put it in the middle; if it's in a stud, it won't move. It must be in a stud to function properly.
I'm not sure why these would contain lead, but the last set I bought in January 2020 did not include Prop 65 warning labels.
The cord measures 6 inches in length.
Yes, one for each dresser is more than enough.

I've tried a lot of different antidepressants. Over the years, I've collected a variety of tip hardware, all of which were name brands manufactured by children's product companies. I've never been satisfied or felt secure while using them, and I'm not sure why other products are still in use when something like this exists. The other products have a material piece that slides into another piece and becomes looser over time, to the point where I simply stop buying furniture because I am concerned about my children's safety. br>Getting back to these fantastic pieces, they're simple to put together and don't fall apart. Install one side into a stud in your wall and the other into your furniture's wood. I've put five of them on book shelves and dressers around the house. There are a few installation options, but they recommend installing under the top piece of wood on a shelf the most. I've tried both methods, and they're both very strong. I even tested it on a book shelf, and it didn't budge. br>Get these if you want peace of mind knowing that your child will not be able to tip over anything properly secured with these steel cables.
I appreciate the thought that went into these as an engineer. Pins in dual shear, good quality crimping, very strong but simple construction. Your furniture will be the weakest link here, especially if it's made of particleboard. br>br>Slight annoyance getting everything lined up with a stud, but that's true of most safety straps. br>br>I've purchased these twice (following a move in which I acquired additional furniture) and have also recommended them to friends. These are fantastic.
We ordered several of these to use on various pieces of furniture around the house. The majority of the brackets and wire were in good condition and ready for installation. One bracket, however, had an unbalanced flange, a misaligned hole, and a slight slant to the base bracket, rendering it completely useless; we couldn't use it and lost functionality for one while it was being installed. br>br>With the exception of this bracket, the installation is simple, the anchoring is straightforward, and the functionality is satisfactory. A spot test of all furniture reveals that the wire tension is sufficient to keep it from toppling over.
This style appealed to me because it allowed me to conceal them more easily on the tops of my bookcases. Only getting the lynch pin all the way down was difficult - It's a little cramped, but that's the point! Again, with the right tool or someone with stronger hand strength, the pins could be easily pushed down or removed.
As part of an entertainment center, I had some very tall towers, and it was critical for me to anchor furniture before my baby began crawling. These are sturdy and can be used on a variety of surfaces, including tall bookshelves, small cubbies, and even home water fountains. Yes, one of these prevents my toddler from ripping the water cooler from the wall and spilling it all over the place!.
I bought a four-pack of these for around $5 each, and I was pleased with the quality and value. Long screws do a good job of anchoring into studs, while shorter screws work well with most hardwood furniture. It includes instructions/ideas for installing it on various types of furniture to reduce visibility. If I had more furniture to anchor with, I would buy them again.
Anchoring furniture to the wall has been a must for me since I started having kids, and these are great because the cable is long enough that you don't have to have the furniture close to the wall. There's also a quick connect, which means you won't have to unscrew anything to move the furniture for cleaning.
I couldn't sleep for a few months after an earthquake because I was afraid the bookshelf next to my bed would fall and kill me while I was sleeping! These were ordered and placed on a variety of bookshelves and dressers throughout our home. They were simple to put together and appear to be extremely durable. I can't say how well they work because we haven't had another earthquake, but I am definitely sleeping better at night!.
