It was about 3/8" in diameter, if my memory serves me correctly. Perhaps a smidgeon of a shave. It was ideal for what we needed.
I live and work near the coast, where rust is a constant problem, but these swage sleeves appear to be holding up and not rusting.

While I have enough knowledge to accomplish anything, I frequently have just enough knowledge to be dangerous. Despite the fact that I am not a professional rigger, I am aware of safety margins and proper job application. Unfortunately, when I purchased the same swedges from Lowes, I failed to notice this. In Salt Water, I built a lifting sling out of 3/16" SS wire for my 10' X 130lb inflatable boat with aluminum swedges, and it lasted only two years. Galvanic corrosion resulted in a significant loss of strength very quickly; fortunately, I had a friend in town who is a professional rigger who saw this and advised me to get the right solution, which was i. these copper swedges with a zinc plating We upgraded to these new swedges after hacksawing off the old ones, and I am more confident that they will last a long time. They are no more difficult to install than aluminum, but you should use a crimp gauge to ensure you crimp them enough. To obtain the proper crimp diameter, I needed to tighten my tool.
95 lb. is the weight that I use. For my flying/landing wires, I needed to test fishing cable. This size is ideal for my needs and is difficult, if not impossible, to come by. I'll definitely buy more because I don't want to run out in the middle of a job.
Swage was easy to use with my 316 stainless steel 0. A wire rope crimping tool from IWISS was used to crimp a 125" cable. We'll see how my life line connections hold up in a marine environment over time.
They worked perfectly on stainless steel 1/4" wire rope; they are a little difficult to crimp, but that is more due to the crimper than the sleeves themselves. br>br>Would buy again if needed!.
Quality.
I received a one-of-a-kind size of 7mm. It's an excellent match.
Loss prevention in security. I've used 12 so far and they're fantastic to work with.
It's fantastic.
